Love this guy. He's down to earth and relates many of his own life experiences to the sociological concepts that we learn about in the class. Very funny guy and he LOVES for the class to interact. PARTICIPATION CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN YOUR FINAL GRADE! Take this class..it's not an EASY A but you can get an A with some effort and participation.

His class is definitely an experience. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, and interesting. He only gives take home tests which some are more difficult than others. He will help out if you ask but clarity can become an issue. Be prepared to work for a good grade.

His class is easy, kinda boring. he always goes on telling storys about his life. All tests are take home, if you take notes they are a breeze.

Take home tests are very hard and sometimes full of trick questions. Essay is graded harshly. Great teacher nonetheless, you will learn from him. Cannot stress this enough, TAKE NOTES and use HIS definitions on tests. Want to learn something than take him. Got an A, was not easy.

Oh MY dear god. Mr. white has so far this semester, cancelled ten days of class. He never notifies anyone so u end up just leaving after wasting half an hour just sitting around waiting. He rambles and never seems to find a point. His test are extremely hard even the take home ones. All in all interesting man crappy teacher.

alot of these comments about Mr. White are wrong. If you takes good notes in his class there is no reason why you shouldn have an A. He gives you all the information you need. A few questions come from the book, but mostly notes. He does grade hard but he lets you take the test home for a week, dont wait till the last minute to do them and you will

Very hard class, he does get on a tangent about his life which is funny. Tests are VERY hard and even with open book you might have some trouble. He grades very sharply and takes off points for spelling on your essay. Overall I liked the man, just not his style of teaching.

White is an excellent teacher. He loves going on tangents about his life and that really makes the class bearable and fun. Just don't cheat, he won't give you a 0, but he will cut your score in half on the test and really mess up your grade.

Only take class if you are writing a bio of his life. I learned more about his life that subject area. His tests and paper were graded harshly on material he barely touched on.

Very funny, smart, & witty man. Not the best Prof though. I seemed to learn more about his life than sociology. You have to do tons of reading on your own!! He gives handouts which are nice. Gives 2 take home exams & they are hard. Grades very harshly. Essays are tough. There is a paper due at the end of term which he also grades quite sternly.

He was not as good as everyone on the website makes him sound like. he taught good, but his grading on essays was insane he graded like an english teacher. Class could get boring sometimes. I guess overall it was an ok class not one of my favorites.

Mr. White is a hilarious professor. He tells great stories, which makes you look forward to attending class. There are three take home tests, but like the previous student said, they are not easy. He's kind of picky with the essay sections, but otherwise, he's a fair grader. If you attend class, pay attention, and take notes, you'll be fine.

Absolutely inspiring teacher, wonderful class. Wish I had not taken sociology already, would have taken it with him also. Don't be fooled by the take-home test, they are not easy. Mr. White places very high emphasis on essay quality. Great experience, best teacher yet.

I really looked forward to lecture. I thought he was really hilarious. You get extra credit for class participation. Take home tests are harder than I expected. Some questions are really tricky regardless of using the book. Essay questions require good notes Final test is in class with no book. Make sure you turn in a rough draft on your paper

I took Mr. White for philosophy and can't wait till spring semester to take his sociology class. He's not easy (it is COLLEGE) but he is interesting and willing to help if you ask for it. He gives one opportunity for extra credit and the tests count heavily so take REALLY GOOD notes and do the reading.

Pretty easy class, just show up and TAKE GOOD NOTES! 3 take home tests, and one in class test. Do the journal for extra points! I got an A, but it wasn't easy, but not too difficult either. He has a very dry sense of humor, hated philosophy before this class, still hate it afterwards!

We didn't see eye to eye on anything and things didn't work out so well. Not a bad teacher, but it sure felt easy to get on the wrong side of him. Maybe we just disliked each other, I don't know.
