Dr. Thompson is a national treasure in my opinion! He is definitely a historian in every sense of the word! His lectures are predicated on storytelling elements and he really knows his stuff. He does require reading for his courses, but that is expected considering the caliber of professor that Dr. Thompson is. I highly recommend taking him!!!

Comment:

A lot of reading!! Lectures are interesting, but you have to be on the ball knowing your chapters from assigned reading to get good grades. There are many quizzes. Although he lets you use a "cheat sheet" on your exam IT'S STILL HARD and lengthy. Be ready to work if you want an A. History is not my subject and is the only class I ever got a C in.

He is like the coolest teacher ever. I sucked at history before this class and now I am actually thinking in majoring in this. As long as you read, you should have no problem in his tests or anything. Likes students participation

I agree with everyone. He is a very smart man and he knows his stuff. His tests are easy. Everything he talks about in class are on the test, no trick questions or anything like that. He even let us use cheat sheets sometimes. What professor lets you do that nowadays. He's also really polite and courteous.

Awesome professor. The material isnt necessarily easy but he is so intresting that youll find yourself completely understanding and remembering everything he says in his lectures. Storylike teaching. Cheat sheets alowed. Quizes everyday(helps you study and learn) you have to read alot. Go to class every day.

He is the best teacher to have for history. He makes the class so interesting. He does know his stuff really well. Other teachers need notes but he has it all on the tip of his tounge. You can ask him anything and he can tell you.

SUPER SMART!!! Great teacher, and very funny & entertaining! This dude knows his stuff (he even writes books)!! Don't miss class, cuz it's challenging, but totally worth it if you study. Gives EC too! My fave teacher overall! Makes history interesting!
