Comment:

I took an online health class with Dr. Janowiak. Though I have never met him face to face, he seems like a really cool guy! He posts links to him singing and playing guitar on ASULearn and he's very good lol. There isn't too much work in the class and the concepts aren't difficult to understand. Take his class for an easy wellness credit!

Comment:

When I signed up for his class, I was a little nervous because of the other reviews. He definitely seemed a bit harsh in the beginning, but I absolutely LOVED going to his class. He didn't just talk about health education but showed it too. One day we chopped wood and ate snacks to talk about calorie intake and calorie spending. Take his class!!!

Comment:

Dr. J. truly cares about his students and the university. He has a wealth of teaching experiences in his field and does not usually rely on notes or Powerpoints. He is engaging and always interesting. One of my favorite professors ever!!

Comment:

Dr. Janowiak is a super nice guy--very grandpa like--but he is a kind of strange teacher. He talks a lot about life and retells stories, but he doesn't talk very much about health ed. I enjoyed the class and would recommend taking it if you need health ed. Make sure to stick to the syllabus and turn everything in; he usually lets you revise!

John is an interesting character. He plays his guitar and tells life stories more then he teaches. Honestly didnt learn anything in the class but hes a funny old guy that will pretty much talk about anything. Point of advice if you are a brunette and dye your hair blonde he Will point it out almost every class. Take him hes like a grandpa.

Janowiak will tell you his entire life story, but wont mention a single bit of material. He likes to break out his guitar instead of covering material that makes up the ONE and ONLY exam hell give you all semester. Also, he is hard to get a hold of outside of class. They only thing I got out of this class is that I need to pray more. Thanks Dr.J

Janowiak asked us to call him "The Polish Prince." He is the most unique person I've ever met and rambles about the most random things ever. I don't think he talked once about health education but he does talk a lot. He mostly played his guitar for us and sang 70's songs, even some originals he had written.

Good class if you're looking for an easy grade. Only one test but it is online and open note. The course was hybrid so it was listed as a T/Th class but we only met on Tuesdays. He's obviously passionate about the topic but he does ramble on A LOT. 20-30 min presentation at the end of the semester but he talks during it to help make it longer.

He is literally crazy but kinda in a funny way, nice though. He loves to rant about random things and I didn't learn very much other than from the chapters in the book. Easy A, write down due dates though because he doesn't remind you.

He was an interesting professor. He rarely discussed something to do with the subject matter. The class felt a lot like story time for him. However, he is funny and engaging. The class was easy to pass and did not require much effort. There were three assignments throughout the whole semester, besides a mid-term.

Would recommend this class. Teacher is hilarious and never stays on topic. He gives so many valuable life lessons, though. Not hard, just do your work on time and show up.

Janowiak does tend to ramble and tell a bunch of stories in class, but he's a very nice guy. There's only one quiz the entire semester, he lets you correct all projects so you can get an A, and we never had homework. He cares about his students and about education, and by the end of the semester you'll be so glad you took his class.

I would not recommend him. Take this class if you want to listen to a bunch of random stories irrelevant to elementary health education. I have not learned a single thing in his class, never even taken a single note. He can be judgmental and thinks the Earth revolves around him. He also hates Greek life. Take another professor!!

Got a 75 on the only test and still ended with an A. John is something else. Class is interesting; you only meet once a week, health was discussed at a minimum, and he often rambles about his own stories and plays guitar. There is ample extra credit, and you can rewrite the two papers he assigns. Hard to not get an A.

Dr. J is something different! He is really nice, but his class is pointless. You only go on Tuesdays which is nice, but I was lost and confused a majority of the time. There's only 1 test and it's online, and just a few other assignments. I didn't learn anything about health, but he cares about teacher's futures! Also, don't miss more than 1 class!

Dr. J is such a wild guy! He has a story about his life for everything, and he truly cares about all of his students. Class lasts the whole time, but you only have to go on Tuesdays. While his lectures don't necessarily match the title of the class, he truly wants everyone to be able to be the best teacher they can be.
