This is my first recommendation, do not take his class early in the morning. You'll be tempted stay in bed and his lectures are important, he is strict on attendance. Do your outside work, be familiuar and you'll do just fine. For 110 one of his tests is on Christianity and you should pass that one with flying colors.

BAD teacher. Rambles on and repeats himself all the time. Boring lectures. Takes attendence. Tests are extremely hard especially the essay questions. Reading assignments every class. Makes you feel stupid for what you say on the subject.

Bad Teacher. I am a 4.0 student that now has a 3.8 due to getting my first ever C in his class. He's very strict on essays and his tests are over loads of reading material. He rambles in class and apparently expects you to write down what he rambles because he always asks about things that he says, not just what is in the readings.

Philosophy of religion was very interesting. Moran is a good teacher, though he does ramble a bit. The class was very discussion oriented, which was great. The tests were all take home essay tests, but he asks so many questions that they did take quite awhile. Overall, I learned a lot though.

Test averages are always a C. Really dull class. Boring rambly stereotypical college professor. All it is, is nonstop rambling and reading assignments. The tests suck because multiple choice is unclears and the essays are graded very strictly. He likes to make you look stupid when he marks on your test.

If you go to class and do the study guides you should do fine.He does ramble a lot but it makes the class go by quicker and adds a little entertainment. Make sure to read the assigned passages and know what you are talking about on the days you present and you should do fine. Moran is a good teacher

I had this class in the summer, and it was really boring, but not all that difficult. He covers everything you need to know in class, with minimal support from the textbook, so the readings are very short. He rambles a bit on occasion, but tries to make it interesting and understandable.

If Philosophy isn't naturally your subject, don't take him. He tends to ramble but he knows what he's talking about. Not the easiest class.

He's your stereotypical college professor: dry, rambling, but knows his information. I'm not much for philosophy, and I'm still not after taking his class. However, the study guides are pretty helpful. Overall, a "blah" class and teacher.

Comment:
Dr. Moran rambles on about various tangents but speaks so much about one subject, you are bound to understand it eventually. Very easy class if you just attend and take notes. Tests are not too bad - just study a couple hours the night before and you will get an A.

Not sure if it is possible to mumble while you talk and when you write but, he does. Homework every night, essay tests and he no longer offers review sessions. The class is boring and not what you would expect an ethics class to be and a lot of reading and hard, very hard tests.

he isnt hard if you go to class and do the homework assigned(which isnt often). His tests are a little rough, but if you go to the study review he gives you are guaranteed an A if you memorize it, a bit hard to follow on occasion but interesting.

It's sometimes hard to follow what he is talking about in class but he will clarify if you ask. Also he hands out study guides and if you go the the study sessions before the test he will answer every question on it in detail.

I think Moran is a very good professor. Homework is minimal and over short readings from the text. Notes are comprehensive and he gives very thorough exam reviews and optional review sessions. Tests all essay and short answer, just know the material.

He rambles alot about pure random thoughts. Tests are essay and short answer and fairly hard. No chance at an A. B is very attainable. No need to ever go to class, just make sure you go to optional review sessions.

He isn't very clear. He's really nice and might pop a joke here and there(you probably won't understand it). However, he talks in circles and the tests are too long and hard (All essays and "short" answers)!
