Theres not one person she doesn't say to speak extemporaneously on presentation feedbacks even when the presenter seemed to do fine. She gives math equations that are difficult to learn since she doesn't spend a long time on it. She'll throw out tricky parts to the questions on assignment that were not prepared for. Overall nice prof. But tough

Cushing is one of the most intelligent, interesting, and passionate teachers at sjsu. She really knows about her subject and has knowledge about many different topics as well. She does require you to put in effort but is understanding of late work and paper redos if you tell her beforehand. You learn a lot and am glad I took her class as a GE

Do you enjoy doing extra work? Then take Cushing. I am beginning to believe that she seriously enjoys making students suffer by giving SO many LONG and sometimes difficult assignments/ readings. She gives 5 units for work for every 3 unit class. Its a lot for students who have JOBS and OTHER CLASSES outside of this one, which I doubt she considers.

Great teacher. Class isn't an easy A but isn't super hard. It involves critical thinking and lots of discussions. She's a fair grader and very understanding. Learned a lot in this class. I recommend taking this class.

Professor Cushing is a professor with an interest in environment and other things, as well as high credientials from Stanford and Northwestern. however, I she talks about issues such as working for Mcdonalds and toilets in class. I don't think she truly cares about the class ENVS 129.

Kathrine is a great teacher and expects her students to stretch a bit. I enjoyed the class because we were out of the classroom so much on fieldtrips, etc. If you really value your education, take one of her classes and learn something.

She is extremely hard!!!I have a 3.8 avg. & found her to be overwhelming. She needs to go back to Stanford!In addition, I have yet to find a student that likes her class, but she has a great personality.

Katherine is a great teacher and it seems like she really wants her students to care. The only problem is that this class has WAY too much reading, and it's really hard because there are so many assignments. Katherine is good for it though, because she's willing to meet with you outside of class because she wants everyone to do well.

She is a great teacher! Her tests are pretty simple, as long as you study. You dont even need to read the chapters but if you go to the review sessions, they help so much... trust me ;) But overall she is a great teacher, very nice and friendly.Definatly take it with her!!!

She is a peppy little one; very happy all the time. Kinda cute actually. She knows her stuff and tries to remain interesting but gets boring over time. Two papers, group presentation, and a couple tests. Read 50% of the chapters and you're good for an A.
