I'm surprised there's so few ratings on here for her. Professor Ryan is a standout in the WVU English Department, and is well known for her ability to make students open up and feed into a great class discussion. I hope I get her again before graduation.

Kathleen Ryan is one of the most genuine professors I'll ever have the pleasure to learn from. Her classes are conversational and refreshing, and she keeps assignments interesting. I can't stress how kind she is. I would love to take another class of hers if I have the credits to spare

She is amazing. Everyone raves about her in the department. Wonderful discussions and you know that she is passionate about everything that she is talking about. I can't wait to take her again in the fall. Favorite professor of all time. AND we read a novel and a play ($20 total) which was a nice money saver.

Professor Ryan is one of my favorite professors at WVU. She is the reason I switched from an Education to an English major. She is a very effective teacher and a wonderful person. She cares very much about her students' success and tries her best to make sure everyone understands. She is overall a great teacher!

I have her for her very first poetry class. It is laid back, she helps as much as possible, explains well, and makes the class a highpoint in my week. Grading very fair, and she loves discussions/people who talk.

I must say, I find her lisp to be hillarious, especially since she's an English teacher. I wouldn't take her again. She will let her own opinions on political matters etc seep in, and she herself missed half the semester.

Very passionate and discussion oriented class! She leads and listens well. Her tests aren't easy, but she only docks points where necessary. Fun class, good readings!
