Some classes she was clear about things and provided an interesting class discussion. Other times, she was extremely scattered and difficult to follow. Hard tests, two papers while not long are also difficult, and participation is also a big grade. Difficult material and class, and she didn't make it any better.

Awful. Toughest grader I have ever had. Assignments also irrational especially considering how strict she is on grading.

Dr. Liebell is pretty great. Her class is a lot of work but you learn a lot and she makes it isn't terrible. I would take her first-year seminar is you're considering law since its kind of modeled that way. She's very ethical and really cares about her students. She really wants to teach and it's very clear so I would take her if I could.

Liebell is a really great Professor and it's clear she's very passionate about what she does. The class can be difficult at times, you can get by pretty easily for the most of it but she will make you work for a good grade during moot court. Definitely a great and insightful class

Liebell is really something else. She will absolutely not hand you an A. You have to do the work and do it well and participate in class to show that you're working. She will help you if you ask for it. I definitely had to work hard to get an A, but you really do understand the material by the end of the course. She's an overall great professor.

Excellent professor. Very smart, but expects you to put in effort. If you are trying to coast by she will not have it. For those who are willing to work, she really tries to help you out and develop you as a student. She made the class interesting. Take her if you want to learn.

Liebell is tough but if you listen in class and do the readings you'll be fine. Really likes participation, lectures are fast paced and engaging. Grades on a curve and gives ample extra credit opportunities if you put in the work.

It's a pity because this class could have been interesting, but she completely ruined it for me. Didn't show up the two classes before the midterm and had a sub give us the exam. Never answers emails. Had to purchase THIRTEEN books (No, I'm not exaggerating) and she is very rude. Grade is based off of only 2 papers and 2 tests. Not worth your time.

She oversees the Poli Sci internship program in which you are graded almost entirely on a useless book review & a final 15 page paper about that same book than on your actual internship. You might as well just read the book & never show up to work, since she doesn't seem to weigh that at all. To make matters worse, she NEVER answers emails. Avoid!

I have taken Liebell three times now and I loved every one of her classes. She is hands down the best Political Science teacher and basically has a cult following. She isn't easy, but she's so interesting. Don't take her classes unless you're really interested because it's a ton of reading

Dr. Liebell really is a good professor. It's a shame she was denied tenure, but the fact that so many students rallied behind her is evidence enough of her quality as a teacher. Very clear, very helpful, and as mentioned, REALLY wants to see her students succeed. Certainly not a gimme class though - must work hard to do well. Take if possible.

Best prof at St. Joes. Genuinely cares about students. She is the most engaging and interesting professor I have had the pleasure of taking. She is challenging, but never stops encouraging students to discuss and evaluate the topic at hand. Amazing professor!!!

Political Thought was my favorite class this semester because of Dr. Liebell's enormous enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject matter she teaches. Reading all the material is definitely important, however, paying attention to class discussions and lectures is even more crucial to doing well. Tough essay grader, but participation is 30%.

Prof. Liebell is by no means easy, but if you have a chance, definitely take her. She knows inside and outside of the subjects she's teaching and is just awesome and down-to-earth. There is a lot of reading with all her classes, but she definitely makes the class worth it. Don't skip this class either, she's hardcore on attendance.

Horrible Class, Do NOT Take. If you have a different view point from her she will accuse you of not reading the assigned work, makes you print out over 250 pages the semester, so make sure you have plenty of ink and paper. Do NOT take if possible, even if its the Freshman Seminar

A little disorganized, but makes up for it by being super interesting. I always looked forward to classtime (except when I didn't do the readings!) because her enthusiasm is contagious. I highly recommend her IF you are willing to work hard.

If you have the opportunity to take a class with Dr. Liebell, DO NOT MISS OUT because you WILL regret it. That's not to say she's an easy professor by any stretch because she truly is not; however, the effort and diligence you will put forth will be worth it all. She's a rare find -- helpful, blindingly intelligent, humorous, and down to earth.
