Comment:

I took a block 1 online class with Dr. Eakins. I would not recommend doing this unless you are prepared to read a lot. You could tell from his notes that he would be good in class. I would LOVE to take this class in class, it would have been more fun. Also, the online class is not interactive and discussion post are short papers that only he sees.

You are an amazing teacher when I have a kid I want to to be his or he professor because you teach me everything I want to know. You are very caring, respectful,and very funny with your jokes.

Comment:

Professor Eakins is AMAZING! Tests are hard but he is lenient with his grading scales. Participation in class is VERY IMPORTANT. Make sure you take notes in class and pay attention, you will be fine. The class and lectures are very interesting. Moot court is very important and make sure you do not miss it.

Comment:

Probably the most unclear teacher I have ever had. He's another one of those teachers that expects his students to have all of the knowledge that he has. In this case that means being a lawyer and understanding all the technical things. Quizzes are either easy or very hard. There's no in between. Students, urge UCO to give you another option.

Took class online as that's all that was offered. Prof. Eakins was kind enough to re-open the dropbox at times due to goofs on my end and didn't penalize me. Communicate often and he's understanding. Tons of reading, some online quizzes of 5 questions but 7 mins to finish. Long paper at the end of course. Take in class if you can.

Taking Eakins for Constitution & Crim Procedure. He has a 5 question quiz, and a 500 word discussion every week over Supreme Court cases. Very interesting. Doesn't update your grades until the end of the semester so you won't know how you are doing. Very easy to understand, and even though it's online I've enjoyed him as a professor.

I disagree with most people. Dr. Eakins doesn't come off as arrogant or boring. He seems more soft spoken and polite in my opinion. Very helpful. Took the time to help me on a paper in a class that wasn't even his. He is distractingly attractive but you will learn a lot in his class if can pay attention and apply yourself.

I took his online Criminal Law and Procedure class this Summer. The class isn't easy but if you print off his notes and read them you will do just fine. Most of the questions to his quizzes and discussions are in his notes.

Took Criminal Law online for an elective...not terrible, not great. Doesn't post grades. Doesn't help. Can't understand his notes. I basically made up every assignment in the class because I didn't understand anything. Useless.

I took his class online, and it was fairly simple. The final paper and final exam were a bit difficult, but if you're good with law then you've got nothing to worry about. He isn't very communicative, so if you ask a lot of questions, don't expect a quick response. I personally won't take another one of his courses. Too boring.

He was friendly and helpful. Grades on a curve. The classes were laid back. He didn't stifle anyone's opinions during open discussions. He made no secret of his liberal stand point, but I never once got the impression that he catered only to fellow liberals. I had no interest at all in politics before I took his class and I made an A+.

If you're smart, but have no interest in teaching..what's the point? He was late to class most of the time, absent many times, and boring. He simply doesn't know how to teach. For those who think he's hot..that's not what I paid for. I got nothing from this course and was very disappointed in the course, as well as his attitude.

Took him last Fall. He is a pompous, egotistical jerk who enjoys ruining peoples' lives. He thinks he is the supreme genious of political science and nobody's opinions matter but his. He is very liberal and if you aren't, you won't make an A.

This guy is completely useless as a teacher. I've never had anyone to teach (or rather, not teach) the way he does. My classmates and I have tried to email him numerous times and he hasn't responded. He won't tell us what our grade is. I have no idea where he gets his test questions from. Would not recommend this guy AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!

It is my opinion that he is boring. I was very interested in this class prior to taking it and his method of teaching simply bored me. He rambles on straying away from the subject. He is inconsistent, with attendance, missed several classes-no one is perfect, just giving information. Does not return emails promptly. Make your own best judgement.

Decent Professor. Class lectures are pretty dull but notes are posted online. Funny and likes to show Daily Show clips. Tests are HARD but gives study guides and AMAZING curves. You can fail but still pass.

Comment:

He is super boring. He turns the lights out for his slide shows and it seriously puts me to sleep. You can tell he is very smart, but to be honest I did not learn much at all in the class. His test are semi-hard but he gives a huge curve, like 15 points, on every test which was great! It is easy to make a good grade in the class just very boring.
