If you're a philosophy major, you NEED to take as many classes as possible w/ Dr Hatab. Down to earth dude who knows his stuff - and admits it when he doesn't. Treats students with respect. 2 question reading quizzes every class, and there is a LOT of difficult reading.

I really didn't like this class. The class is easy and the teacher makes jokes. 2 essay, 12 (2 question ) quiz and objective test and a final test.

You should come to class if you want to pass. Gives pop quizzes on the reading. You have two papers and one test and the final (combo of test and essays). There's no study guide for the tests so you're on your own. Tough at grading papers. If you don't like to read then you'll have a tough time. sn: he's really funny! makes class interesting!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. He has no trouble keeping the interest of the class and is very helpful when there is trouble understanding.

This is my 3rd class with Hatab; LOVE this guy. There's a lot of assignments, but he's an extremely fair grader. Just make sure you can put the time into the course. Never got bored in my 3 hour seminars; always entertaining. Treats his students like the adults they are. Extremely helpful and clear, always eager to clarify any problems you have.

TONS of papers in this class. I mean, it is a seminar so I guess its assumed but sheesh! Hatab is really nice/funny though. He tries really hard to make it so we can understand the material, he also cut our reactions back from 10 to 8 so obviously hes understanding.

This class was not too diffcult. 1 test, 2 papers(but we only ended up doing 1), and reading quizzes every once and a while. Attendance is not mandatory, he could careless if you come. Aslong as you look over the material in the book you can pass the reading quizzes.

The guy is really fun and a great professor. the only thing I didnt like was his lack of internet use...he does answer e-mails, but he doesnt really use blackboard very often...tho overall, he's a fantastic professor! if you need Phil 126P definately take him!

Excellent teacher, one of the best in the department. Down to earth explanations of hard to grasp concepts. Don't expect his classes to be easy, but do expect to learn a great deal. He makes you think and understand concepts rather than just memorize and recite. Highly recommend any of his classes.

Hatab is an excellent teacher. His classes are never boring, he is interested in the students, and doesn't mind if you disagree with him - which is not always the case with Phil. profs. If you get the chance, definately take a class with him

If you of a philosophic disposition this is the prof for you - he is the ousia of a phil prof. Sets the bar high but if you attend class, read and try you can do it. If philosophy is not your thing and you are taking a 100 level for required credit, take it from an adjunct but if you are going to minor/major in Phil, get Hatab as often as possible.

He grades his papers really hard and the test aren't that easy either. There aren't many opportunities for grades in the class, so you would generally have to do well on every assignment to do well in the class.

Gotta read (daily quizzes). Essays are fairly easy. I had a hard time learning during class because I couldn't keep up with his tangents. He doesn't hate Christians either, he hates religion in general ;) I guess he's pretty helpful, if you get what he's saying while he's helping you. He looks like an ethnic Arvin Sloane from Alias.
