Good class with group work option on 2 projects. (I prefer to work alone b/c ppl. slack off in grps.) Fab 5 presentation was fun. She made us ask questions of presenters but didn't test us on it. She could have shown ussome movies but didn't. 3 hours is a long class but she let us go early a couple timers.

Friendly. Organized. Lots of current events. Liked lectures on poverty and difference bewtween spanking & abuse best. You make a child labir movie, take midterm and final. Only drawback is at Va Beach campus b/c all of my classes are in Norfolk.

Comment:

Ms. Gibson was one of the nicest professors I've ever had during my college career. She was always cheerful, helpful, and made the material easy to understand. The work required was not difficult at all and often had the option of working in a group. I learned quite a bit and I will miss this class. Thank you for a great semester!

Great class. Liked doing the group outlines.it forced me to actually read articles (there's tons of reading) and learn something. Can't slack off but she preps you for test. my rec...GO TO CLASS.

I like her...she is a good Christian woman (Quaker, I think). She talks a lot about women and children but that is her speciality I guess. The essays are easy. She practically gives the answers during lecture with a wink and a smile.

Absolutely subversive... Gibson's so subtle, you'll miss it if you're not paying attention. Which was most people in my class considering mostly rednecks and bible-thumpers populate this corner of Southeast Virginia. Go to class, pay attention, be amused.

She is nice and helpful. I rarely went to class and got b. Her class was boring, definitely high school level. It would have been better if more people in my class was interested in the topic. The same 3 girls raised their hands... 8 am is not a good time to take this class.

Liked this class very much. Liked thta she stresses how concepts related to current events and our life. Theory section was boring but rest of class after week three is really interesting. Recommend highly if you want to learn how to think, not what to think.

I don't know which class those others took but I thoroughly enjoyed myself in Prof. Gibson's class. She is passionate about what she does and very helpful to the students. She obviously puts a lot of effort into her class lectures and even outlines them for students on BB. Only beef- talks too fast!
