He thinks hes the best teacher ever but the lectures are confusing and he just talks and expects you to remember everything he says.

By far one of my favorite professors I have had at UGA! I mean be prepared to do the work, because he expects his students to do the work, but if you can manage your time well it's really not that bad. For sure go to class and try to participate, but I thought it was a super interesting class if you're into intelligence and all that!

Dr. Johnson is an excellent teacher and his class is super interesting. That being said, the class is tough, but definitely manageable. You need to go to class, write down everything he says, and do the readings. The group project is also great. Overall, hes a great professor. Hes can be very particular about what he wants, but take him.

Dr. Johnson is a great man, but his class is not easy. Although you learn a lot, you need to read a lot, too. A big chunk of the study guides were not on the actual exams, so try to read the books as much as possible. The group project is interesting, and I enjoyed it. However, take at your own risk. Great professor, but tough class.

worst professor in UGA. don't take his intelligence class because its simply not intelligence related. He teaches about congress, sub committees of congress, bureaucratic stuff in the name of intelligence, its simply not intelligence at all. That is because he was a staff member of a senator and he discusses all his work in that class. super boring

Great professor - inspiring, a plethora of experience, and more than willing to help students outside of class. Is also a great mentor with an ability to give sound advice for a career in a related field.

A knowledgeable, inspiring, well-prepared, experienced and, at first, intimidating professor. Introduce yourself to him, get to know him. A great mentor to have. Makes himself available to students if you take the first step to ask for help or reach out to him. His lectures are intriguing. His classes can be tough, but he makes you want to succeed.

Very knowledgeable, experienced, and great speaker. He values good written and oral communication skills. Reads a lot and expects you to do the same. Fair grader and very willing to help if you will ask him and go to office hours. Intimidating at first, but very nice guy, good friend to have. Keeps your attention. Knows his history.

I took this as an IDL course, there were 19 assignments, roughly 21 MC and 3 short answers per assignment and then a final (same format but not online). I never read the chapters, just searched for the answers in the book and studied those and the end of ch. highlights for the final, I ended up making an A! He is available to talk if you need help.

We had 7 books to read, and he expects you to read them all. Most of them were written by people whose names he drops constantly. He is an egotistical has-been. His class is the hardest in International Affairs and made me hate a subject I once was interested in.

Very interesting speaker and defintely an expert in intelligence. The tests are very difficult, though, and consist of fill-in-the-blank. You must memorize hundreds of facts down to the most specific details mentioned only once in passing. Take perfect notes and stay attentive. Not a good class for those trying to keep a high GPA.

Fantastic professor. Tests are difficult and can be a little random, but if you go to class it's not that bad. Group project isn't that difficult as long as the entire group participates. Overall the best class and professor I've ever had.

Excellent prof, probably the world's expert on intelligence. Problem is, he knows it and casually name-drops just a bit too much. His tests are heavily fill-in-the-blank off random details and he doesn't test much, if at all, from the reading, just lecture. Also expects a lot on the paper. Great guy, weird tests.

He assigned 3 reading books and no textbook, so it's hard to know what to study. We had one big group project and a final exam as our grades. He's very informative and interesting. One of the best teachers at UGA. He expects a lot out of the students

He assigns 5 large reading books, but no textbook. I got an A without reading the books. Go to class everyday and take good notes. There are no tests other than the final exam. Big group project that's half your grade so write good papers. He wrote a textbook titled w/ American Foreign Policy and there's much of his lecture.

He is a wonderful teacher, but the reading load is insane and he expects a lot out of his students. There are very few grades, and it's hard to make them. BUT you learn a lot and at the end it's not about if you made an A or C because you'll be glad you took the class. Plus he's very personable and helpful.

I took this class as an independent study class. The chapter assigments weren't difficult but there was alot of reading. And there was only one test...the final. And in my case with an independent study class I HAD to pass the final to pass the class. I did pass but the final was somewhat difficult. It had three essay questions.
