Comment:

Staring out by stating her bad ratings were from a while ago. She is a very clear teacher and knows how to get the point across. She's super chill and if you actually read the requirements, it's pretty easy to get an A and if you don't, she notes exactly why. She also has some nice stories to share.

I took this class to fill an elective since there was nothing else available. Not being a COM major, I thought this class took up a lot more of my time as compared to my major classes. It is pretty easy, with minimal effort required besides the social media strategy and the digital artifact (two biggest projects)

Comment:

There are a lot of assignments and reading in this class. Count on at least two homework assignments and one in class assignment each week. COM221 is not an easy A with Dr. Koller. I would recommend taking a different professor. Any other professor would have maybe half as much work as Dr. Koller makes you do for this class.

Worst teacher Ive ever had. Not available to help you if you cant make office hours, which is a part of her job. Has very unclear grading criteria and takes off points not stated in the criteria. Loves to talk about her cats and font types in class instead of actually teaching. also wants you to create a website without teacher you how.

Comment:

Professor Koller can be very difficult to learn from and her grading criteria is much higher than most professors. The report project at the end of the semester is incredibly important to bringing all of the lessons together. Don't skip the online activities or your grade will suffer.

Attendance isn't really mandatory, but there is 20 points of extra credit to the people who go to every single class. Consistent due dates for things each week. Just keep yourself motivated and you'll be fine. However, she accepts nothing late, NOTHING. As long as you do the work she grades you fine, just don't piss her off.

I greatly enjoyed being in Mrs. Koller's class. She was direct, thorough, explained things as I needed them explained. She was also encouraging and supportive. The workload--though sometimes lengthy--did not seem exhausting. I found her grading to be appropriate. I would take another of her classes in a heartbeat. 10/10.

Nice professor. Teaches well, has a great sense of humor and is very caring. This class was hybrid, so the amount of homework was fair. And it was just a one summary of a reading per week, simple and quick. And Modules activities were fun and interesting. I definitely recommend.

This class was a hybrid course. She enables you to work in groupspartners for the majority of the work. She also gives you the freedom to do the assignments as you wish. The blog posts were tedious however she isn't picky. Also, the final paper was a lot of work but its on a topic you pick which makes it easy.

Worst teacher ever,not just at this school but in my life. Is ****y, rude, incomprehensible, unhelpful & grades based on her faves. If she likes you youll do ok but if she doesn't she will take points for no reason. She doesn't know a thing about the programs she teaches. Makes you do busywork like you're in 1st gr. Total waste of money and time.

she is ridiculous! Project directions are unclear, projects are hard anddrawn out, and worst of all, she doesnt even know how to use indesign or photoshop! (the programs used to teach the class!) She is an airhead and her sparatic grading proves that. Oh ya and her cat....ahh she always talks about the cat!!
