Nice lady. Pace is very fast for a 101 class. Her tests are fair and she is not a brutal grader. There are no oral exams in this class, just written exams. You will get called on at random. Online homework teaches nothing. I came in with junior high knowledge of French so it wasn't too challenging. Classmates with no experience in French struggled.

While she is very friendly and always available for extra help, her class is fairly difficult. She has many factors that determine your grade, but test grades are the greatest. Tests definitely need to be studied for as she does not believe in multiple choice. Doesn't offer extra credit, but often lets people hand things in late.

homework load isnt all that bad. more work in the beginning of the semester and then hardly any at the end. she tries to make the class fun, so i give her credit for that even tho class itself is pretty boring. she lets you make up hw, but tests are thorough. study hard and take notes on the culture and you'll pass.

Madame Ponterio was a fantastic professor. She expects you to participate in class and to do homework for every class, but it's always different and really does help to actually learn the material. She tries so hard to make things interesting and she really seems to love what she does. I highly suggest her class.

I honestly started off not liking her, but the class ended up being so much fun at the end. She really knows her stuff and I can't wait to get to 305 with her. Very lenient when it comes to homework, and overall just a really nice professor. Definitely recommend.

i took marie as a first year student in cortland and ended up a ta in a 201 class. it was an extremely rewarding experience, mostly because of the encouragement and guidance she gave me. very nice, knows her stuff, but sometimes a little unclear. no matter, though- take her if you can.

This lady is straight from france. She KNOWS the language. She is very sweet, and will actually sit down and explain a topic if you don't understand it. Her classes of students are normally the better french students of the dept. While her accent is thick, and she might not be much to look at, she is a very endearing woman who loves teaching.

Some ppl might think shes mean or hard but thats how they teach in France. Is from the country so really knows what shes talkin bout, test format same for all, study and def do the homework, it helps u. flexible w/due dates and the class is funny and kinda interesting

I learned more from her than any other professor in college. She was an amazing teacher, and because she is French she shared a lot of cultural knowledge with her class as well. I would highly recommend her.
