Comment:

I got an A- in this class when i really shouldn't have passed at all, she grades on one hell of a curve. Her lectures are almost guaranteed to put you to sleep, as well as the textbook readings. I understood little of what i read and what was taught in lectures, and she was not truthful about how the final exam went, overall not bad, but bizarre.

Comment:

My best advice for this teacher: just sit there (in the back, of course) to get the credit of attendance. She LOVES to lecture the same stuff 5/6 times so if you don't know it by the first class, you will by the midterm. Just do the hw (she doesn't take off for lateness) and read the book (it makes more sense than her). She rarely returns work.

Dr. Marshall is a very nice lady and good professor. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs to fulfill the philosophy requirement. She is a super sweet person and really cares about her students.

I liked Professor Marshall. She is older, hard of hearing, and sometimes forgetful but she means well and is very accommodating should you have things come up during the semester. She only gives out maybe three assignments and they're very easy. Maybe not the most exciting subject but if you want an easy A/B, definitely recommend.

I loved her as a teacher because I am always looking for that easy class. She is defiantly easy because you only have a midterm, exam, and a one page paper, so yeah easy. One thing is she is really hard to contact and she is super old and can't really hear so you have to talk pretty loud in class.

She rambled on and always repeated herself. I feel like I would have enjoyed the class with a better professor. The material was all in the textbook. Even though the information for the tests are in the textbook, the classes were mainly helpful because that's where she made her announcements when she sometimes did not post them on Blackboard.

Prof. is a sweet lady and passionate about philosophy, but the class is boring and she does nothing to make it the least bit interesting. Stands and lectures the same information bc she forgets what she went over previously. Does not follow syllabus or make changes to it. Pushes tests and quizzes back weeks so there are barely any grades.

Great person not a great professor. Extremely disorganized literally all I had to do was look at the book for tests. Tests were not consistent some where open book some were take home. Often went off on random tangents.

Comment:

Can easily get distracted & go off on a tangent during lectures. Very passionate about Philosophy but can't get the topic to be anything but boring (a problem since the class is over 3 hours/meeting). Didn't follow the syllabus schedule for reading/tests. Study guide is directly out of the (cheap!) textbook. Read carefully for trick Qs on exams.

The class was easy for me, mainly because I had to do all the work on my own. Her study guides have absolutely nothing to do with her tests and almost every class is spent going off on a random discussion tangent that has absolutely nothing to do with the class. Find another teacher if you want to take philosophy.

I would not recommend this teacher at all! She is very nice but extremely disorganized. My class constantly had to remind her what she was talking about when she lost her train of thought. She also wrongly graded everyone's 2nd and 3rd test and had to regrade them again. I also had to ask her 4 times to change one of my test grades. Don't take her.

This teacher was confusing. She did not know where she was going in a lecture and would go off into various tangents. Always loosing track herself. I had confronted her about an issue on the syllabus about a quiz date, she said she would fix it and hand a new one out next class. That at the beginning of the semester. We never got a new copy.

Prof. Marshall has a nice personality. She reminds u of an old-fashioned teacher that loves her students, but wants active class participation. However, don't take this class if you don't have to. Unless you <3 the subject, this class is a GPA ruiner. Boring. Confusing. Unnecessary. Prof. is HIGHLY unorganized and class is dull and dry.

Very unorganized, sometimes does not remember what she went over last class and what she's supposed to be doing the day of class. Said at the beginning of the semester we had 12 quizzes at two tests. Only took two test by the end of the semester. Easy class, but got a poor grade due to the inability to stay awake or remotely interested.

I would not recommend this professor to anyone. She is a nice lady, but in class I often find that she forgets what class she is teaching, sometimes doesn't bring her materials, doesn't give much insight on topics, and is extremely unorganized. She says she will assign assignments, quizzes, etc but always pushes them back.

Mrs. Marshall is one of the nicest teachers you will ever have! Although she is a bit disorganized and has trouble hearing, she is extremely willing to help anyone who needs it. I would take a class she is teaching again any day. She loves what she teaches and it shows.

I would not recommend taking any class she teaches. She often forgets which class she is teaching and goes over the same information multiple times, while not covering some information at all. Also she has been known to go off on students when they are not understanding a concept, using profanity to berate their intelligences.

I would not recommend taking Dr. Marshall's class, as she is very difficult to understand. Also, do not ask questions because she will not answer but rather reword them and spit them back at you. And the review questions are worthless.

The best prof ever. First I had no clue what the class was about, but now, dont try to argue with me cause I will proove you wrong!!!! The class give you skills that you will use in everyday life, no doubt!Thanks Dr. Marshall love you! She REALLY helps if you want to be A not F student!
