Comment:

Prof Waldyke is the nicest and smartest human ever!! That being said, biochem is extremely hard, but not impossible if you study ur hardest and go to PAL sessions they are so helpful!! This class has been a nightmare for me, but any orgo/biochem will be. Waldyke really cares and does his best to help and be there for his students.

Comment:

Professor Waldyke is a genius in chemistry. He is accessible outside of class, willing to help you understand course material and answer any questions. Homework is time consuming but helpful before taking an exam. Overall, an amazing professor.

This is not a very easy course at all, but I would say professor Waldyke does a fantastic job of teaching this class and he also made me begin to love chemistry. He is very knowledgeable, Makes everything that you need to do very clear and lays it all out in the syllabus. Very nice guy and will provide for you what you need to succeed. Easy 4.0.

Comment:

Chem is hard, Waldyke does his best to make it as doable as possible while not sacrificing the material. Homework is time consuming and voluminous but necessary to do well on exams. Follow the lab manual and labs will be a breeze. I would recommend getting help outside of class to do well - tutoring, office hours, etc.

Excellent Professor but in order to succeed I had to get help from sources outside of the lecture notes or textbook. The assigned homework online was a lot but not very difficult if you paid attention in class and consulted notes. Does not update BlackBoard with grade information.

He has 4 exams &drops the lowest, 1 cumulative final, 2 lab exams, & Semi easy and Hard online homework for each chapter. This was a tough class. The professor is very nice and helpful. He will take his personal time and meet with you early in the morning or late in the evening. He is understanding that his students work also while in school.

He is a great professor with a lot of compassion and excitement for chemistry! But, if your learning style is more 101 and taking your own notes.. then this is not your best choice. He is very helpful with feedback during office hours. Exams are hard if you find chemistry to be a struggle. Overall, he is a great professor though who is always happy

Super nice guy, he joked around a bit but not too much to distract from the lecture. The class was difficult but I dont think thats his fault, its just the nature of chemistry. The homework can easily get overwhelming if you procrastinate, but its manageable. Cons: lab always gets out LATE, and slow grader, but Id take him again for sure!

nice guy but super hard test, I studied a lot, went to his office hours multiple times a week, and did all the homework assignments and still had a hard time. not very accessible after class and takes SO long to get grades back. Like weeks go by, more exams go by, still no grades. so its hard to know where you stand in the class

Mr. Waldyke knows his stuff, and is extremely helpful when you reach out with questions during lecture and labs. Questions are necessary in his class since you probably won't get the material down just from the lectures alone. Lecturing is not his strong suit, but he has no problem answering any questions you have in class, or during his office hrs

Waldyke is the best! Great professor and explains well. 4 exams(drops the lowest exam) and a final. HW is really good practice. Read the book if you struggle. He's willing to help you out with anything. Labs are interesting. He also gives extra credit. I took AP Chem in HS and Waldyke made chem so much easier. He's really nice! Take him!

He is the best professor for this class! His lectures are so helpful. 4 exams (drops the lowest), 1 cumulative final, 2 lab exams, & easy online homework for each chapter. He provides practice exams similar to his actual exams. I recommend taking this class only with one other class. He wants you to do well & is willing to help! Highly recommend :)

Incredibly hard to pass, I am a genuinly good student who struggled severely, important material is peppered through his unclear lectures and if you are bad at chemistry, plan on allocating 5+ hours to his homeworks per. I wouldnt wish this class upon my worst enemy.

I loved waldyke, he was a very good teacher. Passes out power points and helpful hand outs. He lets you have 1 note card on the final. My only complaint. Hes awful at entering in grades.

He is a great professor. He makes sure to ask frequently is there are any questions during lecture. Class is hard, but its chem so you shouldnt be surprised when it takes up a lot of your time. Lectures are extremely helpful i highly recommend going and staying for them, especially if chem doesnt come naturally to you. He wants you to do well.

Really great professor who goes through material well. Will often tell some chem jokes. You have to study pretty hard but the tests are not too bad considering it is chemistry. I would highly recommend this professor
