I am an econ major and love the subject. However, this man should not be teaching. He is over 80 years old, absolutely 100% incomprehensible, and uses an archaic teaching method of hunting for someone's name and calling on them for an answer. I would have taken an online course if I would have known I would have to teach myself the entire course.

Cutest man ever! Accent is a little difficult to understand, but just go to class and read the book and you can get a good grade.

Make sure you buy the book and read it. you can never come to class and only show up on test day and will do fine. just read the chapters. no point in coming to class. Has a huge curve on tests so i would recommend taking him if you are not good at economics.

Look unless you're a complete moron take his class. Those who commented negatively are probably morons. Professor Kontos is a Grandfather type figure and makes economics fun and interesting. Take his class if you want success as your outcome.

Comment:
Kontos is probably a nice person outside of the classroom, but as for a professor he can be pompous and arrogant. If you are unable to read then take his class, I however, can read and do not need a professor to read to me for 75 minutes. He does not explain things clearly and seems to only obsess over graphs. Stay away if possible.

If you want to learn Economics then don't take him. A very sweet person who loves to talk but not a very effective professor. He's very unclear and is confused easily. He forgot to bring his textbook to class once! To get a good grade, you must read the book and take good notes. Sit up close to hear him because of his accent. Stay away if you can.

He is a really nice man and grades extremely leniently on tests. You have to read to get a good grade though. Also, sit close so you can hear him. He is a little hard to understand at first because of his Greek accent, but you get used to it and it's easier.

I would suggest sitting within the first 3 rows or you'll never understand a word his says. Great guy and pretty good professor. His tests are super easy for the material we cover. I would take him if you're not an ECN major. You can miss class for like a week and come back and not have missed a thing, he loves to talk.

Extremely nice guy, will help w/ anything but you have to ask him. Not very easy to understand b/c he's quiet & has an accent. Teaching style is rather boring. I sat & read the book every class. If you don't read the book, you will fail...miserably. Tests aren't too bad. If you like econ., you might want someone else.

He's a very nice man. He tries to teach but his style is not effective, most people simply read the text during class. Would have been a perfect online course. Never lets you out early. The only way you will learn is if you read the book b/c you will learn nothing in lecture.

If you rely mainly on the text, you will do well. But if you aren't so independent and expect to learn everything by lecture, you will be disappointed in this class.

Do NOT take this man. He's sweet, but entirely too old to be teaching. His accent is very thick and hard to understand, he speaks very quietly, and he hardly ever makes any sense. Extremely hard tests, illegible and nonsense notes, overall a horrible teacher.

Took Econ 202 before 201 in summer school in 1978. Got a b then an a. Parents impressed, NCAA eligibility restored. Kontos does his job, and expects you to do yours on a tricky subject. Ask questions, act like you're interested, as this subject is more important than most people realize.

He takes an interesting subject and makes it complicated and boring. He covers the last necessary chapter right before passing out the test. He would be helpful if his teaching and communication skills were any good. I had an Economics class before and loved it.His was horrible. Avoid it at all cost

I could teach the class the way he does. If you consider reading straight from the book even using the same examples a good style of teaching than he is the teacher for you, but if you favor instructive teaching look elsewhere
