Total of 5 tests throughout the semester, the final which is the 5th test is 60% of your grade so it's crucial that you study for it. Very chill and easy-going cracks a bunch of jokes during class which makes time goes by fast, a 3-hour long class seems like only 1.

Prof. Malek is one of those rare professors whos able to excite his students with his lectures. Despite working a fulltime job and commuting 1.5 hours after work to attend his lectures, they always left me feeling inspired/energized. He did his best to provide us with great online learning material during COVID, and its unfair to claim otherwise.

Ninos is a great guy and I really enjoyed his lectures, but due to the COVID 19 situation we went online and he put no effort. He started to email us tests and answers making the class very simple. I have nothing against that as it makes it easier for students to pass, but he made us study by watching youtube vids and that makes the class not worth

Never read/studied any of the info he told us to n for the final i just remembered the answers to the previous tests the day prior and passed with a B. he says u wont pass if u dont study/come to class but...

As long as you show up to class and do all the readings you will do good on the final. 4 take home tests . 4 short papers due at the end, graded very easy on it and most people got A for the paper.

Malek was really good at teaching. He reinforces a lot of stuff that you might already know. His class consists of like 4 tests that he posts online and you can use any resources to pass those tests. The only in-class test you take is the final (so you better know your stuff by then).

He's fantastic. He's super relatable which makes his connections to the material really easy to understand. Four take home tests and the final. The hardest thing about the class was having to write four papers, but after all, as long as you just completed it and turned all four in, he gave everyone who did 100%.

I had a night class, but he's hilarious and makes his lectures interesting. His tests are all take home and most of the answers can be found online. Also, he looks exactly like Vin Diesel.

Ninos is the best professor that I've ever had, period. His lectures are engaging, his tests and quizzes are easy to pass so long as you show up to class and do the reading, and he is all around great at his job. He will change the way that you view the world!

For the summer of 2017 where his class was 3 hours long, it didn't feel long at all. In fact I wish I get to listen to him longer. He changed my view of the world with his videos on Jon Stossel and his lectures. I wished he was in SJSU for spring and fall so I can recommend him to my friends and to all of you. Taking him I felt ready for any class.

Malek was a great professor. He covers some of the lectures in class, but most of what he teaches is already on his site, so if you miss a class you can catch up. Test are all take home and understandable as long as you do the readings he assigns. Not the toughest class but make sure to study well for the final which is in class.

Dr. Malek is the king of microeconomics. Very funny and gives many relatable examples of how this subject can be applied in the real world. He has 5 tests in total, 4 being the take-home tests, and 1 being the in-class final. Be consistent in your studying and the final will be a breeze

Professor Malek is one of the best professors that the Economics Department at SJSU has to offer. Professor Malek is engaging and forces you to challenge your preconceptions on real world issues. Professor Malek is hilarious and made a three hour course feel like one. I wish he taught more upper division economics courses.

Had the opportunity to take Malek for 1A, 1B and 101. Everything is pretty straightforward, from the first day of class he lays out the expectations. All I can say is that you get out whatever effort you put into the course. I was able to see new perspectives on issues that were never offered to me in any of my previous courses.

Best professor EVER!! Very clear on what he expects from us, and what to be expected from him. His real life examples helped the material stick. Humorous. Very passionate about econ. Summer class was long, but he kept us engaged and entertained. 3 tests & a final- fairly easy & straightforward. I don't write reviews, but I knew I had to for him.

I took Professor Malek for Econ1A in my first semester as a Freshman and I can easily say that it was one of the easier classes I took. He makes it clear that in order to pass his class with a B or above, all you need to do is show up to class. He gives lectures and gives pop quizzes after the lectures. His tests (except final) are take home.
