This class was really interesting. The topics we covered were fun to learn about, even if it shed a negative light on the tourism industry. Paul had to cancel class a lot but he was always available via e-mail. He had great stories to tell about his travel experience. Great guy! Grading is a little different- I think it's better than other profs!

Grading scale is way different from other classes. Tests are hard so study from powerpoints! no book required, learned a lot from him!

Comment:

Class was not stimulating at all and was extremely repetitive. For a course in HTM, he taught in an extremely negative manner. He uses only basic PowerPoint's and videos (every lecture!) and surprises everyone with his extremely harsh grading scale. I would not recommend.

Really, really great guy- one of my all time favorite professors. Uses a lot of videos but they're mostly good ones. PowerPoints are accurate with exams (MC and essay). Great sense of humor. Big final project. No text book. Definitely take him- you'll have fun.

Paul is awesome. Truly one of the greatest professors I've ever had. He cares about his students and trys to offer world views different from our own in order to encourage us to think outside our own cultural norms. Tests are specific and the reading is truly needed to do well on the tests. I recommend Paul completely!!

Comment:

Class was straight forward but tests were unexpected (grading). I like his grading scale but felt he was a tough grader on essays where I usually feel confident. If he assigns your class reading, DO IT! and be ready to be tested on that reading frequently. He encourages class participation, so be sure to speak up in class! Overall, great class!

I found the class very interesting. He shares lots of stories that help to make it fun. The group project at the end is your final, so be prepared to work your butt off for it. Overall, great class and great professor.

Not a bad class, definitely not hard by any means. He is a little unclear about what he expects on exams and the final project. He comes off as a bit arrogant and I definitely do not understand the people that rated him as hot.

Love this guy, has lots of good stories and is real relaxed. Cant wait to have him in another class. Not a lot of work until the final project, which is a lot of hard work but worth it.

SUCH A BORING CLASS...everyone knows it is the worst,and so does he.He tries to make it as interesting as possible,and apologizes because it is so boring.Not many assignments,one test that is all financial info. and the final is a case study analysis.His grading scale is amazing,and makes it easy to get a good grade in the class.Overall,good prof.

Boring topic for a class but Paul does his best to keep us interested. There are some math problems and graphs but if you study you will be fine. Overall a great class, I didnt put much effort into it and got a B+. His grading scale is awesome!

Paul is awesome. The class was interesting and he really knows his stuff. He is a very experienced traveler and puts his own stories on things to keep class alive. The only bad thing is that your final group project is worth half of your grade..but hey no final exam:) I would recommend taking him

Prof. Stansbie is a great guy. He is always more than happy to give a helping hand and makes the class interesting. The class itself is easy. All you have to do is go to class and take the notes. His test are straight forward and come from the powerpoint slides he provides.
