I would not recommend her to anyone. She is highly opinionated. 3 weeks left in the semester, and you better believe i'm emailing the course director when it's over. 2 papers on the same topic, if it's not her opinion the way she writes it then it's wrong. Very condescending in her criticism. Has made a number of people cry.

Pauline Kayes is extremely opinionated. I did not like her class at all. She was all about politics, religion, and enviornmental issue. Writing 2 papers on the same topic is ridiculous. If you say something she doesn't agree with in a paper, she will take off points. I struggled the entire way to get a B. Don't take it w/ her!!

Way too much down time in class. Paper topics were bland and over used, "Cultural Identity"? Come on. She put way too much of her personal beliefs into the class. Did not grade objectively. Too many movies. Just an awful class and teacher overall. Any class that makes you use rottentomatoes.com as a source is joke, let alone Advanced Comp.

Not for the faint of heart. I did not enjoy this class. It did not really improve upon my writing capabilities. The professor is very opinionated and will express those opinions readily. However, I do believe she graded all my papers fairly and correctly.

The class was challenging but really opened my eyes to women's role in literature. Pauline was passionate about the subject and got the entire class involved. I would recommend her.

She is a fun teacher who likes to joke around and have interesting conversations in class. She describes her assignments very clearly with handouts and was never cruel or disrespectful to anyone in my class-we all really liked her. If you have questions or need help she is willing to talk & help.
