Comment:
Perry is a very knowledgable man. I took the summer semester, so the class was VERY fast, but he balances the lab and lecture assignments well. He can be a little unclear at times, and can be a little tough to approach in the beginning, but by the end, I was happy with him. He let us take the average of our midterms as our final exam grade!

Dr. Snyder is an old fashioned man. Lenient grader if you put in effort! No real "homework". The "extra credit" offered is actually quiz points. After the first test we had the option of doing take-home tests. Previous versions of book is acceptable. I suggest reading the chapter before lecture days and taking good notes. Study daily and THINK!!

Comment:
Dr. Snyder's grading policy may be the most lenient that I have ever encountered: 85% cutoff for an A, lowest exam and quiz grades dropped, abundant bonus points on tests and extra credit opportunities. However, his explanations are unclear at times and he often rambles. While he is friendly enough, he is at times hostile to questions.

Does not explain things well enough to understand, uses his own terms when trying to teach certain concepts. As long as you show up to class and at least try to understand, you will pass. The highest grade I got was a D on a test and ended up with an A in the class.

Confusing, answers questions with questions, and never explains the actual answer. Glad I had him for the lab only and not the class! You will pass the lab as long as you don't miss 3 of them.

Sometimes I thought I understood what was going on, but in the end, he explained things too vaguely. It would be easier to learn the concepts if he used test examples or numbers when teaching the class. Don't take this class. You will die.

Belittles his students. Was real strict on California Ed laws. Student teacher was more useful than he was. His clicker system was useless. The best thing he ever did was bought the pizza's for the class. Richard, in the tutoring center, helps you tremendously. Worst class I ever took.

BE PREPARED TO WORK FOR YOUR GRADE. Doc Snyder is really a great guy, he loves MURICA and loves Physics. He does get off topic every now and then, but as long as you focus, and make sure you understand everything, you'll pass. Also Richard in the library tutor section will get you an A. NOT AN EASY A CLASS.

Funny teacher. Very hard class, but if you stick with it and do the assignments, you will pass. I learned a ton from him and even though it was the hardest intro class I ever took, I would recommend him.

Painfully boring, even remedial. It is obvious he would rather do anything else other than teach this class: eat, read a newspaper, talk to other faculty, and he does it all on a regular basis. Showed up to class about 30-45 minutes late everyday and did not miss a thing. He uses that time to complain... about everything. Horrible but guaranteed A

Explains concepts very well but this is easily the most difficult intro class I've ever had. His tests really challenge you to think & most people fail them but that's not a result of him being a bad teacher. He will actually come in on his day off to help you. No other teacher will do that. Stick with it & you'll learn a lot of really cool stuff.

The class was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated, but doable. He's really dedicated to his students, even going to barnes and nobles on the weekend to study with us. Probably one of the hardest As I've ever had to work for, but in the end, he taught me a lot about physics and more. Life changing class.

Demands class participation, Ridicules students for getting the answer wrong, ignores them when they get it right. Ridiculed a girl for buying the book that he required!!! Covertly calls students stupid!!! This guy shouldn't be teaching. PERIOD. If he's the only instructor for phys 101 at Palomar, then take it at another college! Fair warning!

This teacher is awesome!!! He's a genius and although he is very tough to understand, through alot of work and office hours one can pass the class w/ an A and have a great understanding of the concepts and that will help you throughout the rest of your physics classes.

Do not take this teacher. He tells you to ask questions but when someone does, he mocks them, replies with a question, or doesn't answer the question at all. This teacher is rude, unorganized, and it was my mistake for not dropping this class. You have been warned.

He seems like a cool teacher at first, but then you realize you don't understand a single word he says! He always talks about his days, never goes over the material on the test, and I never felt so frustrated in my life! Worst professor ever!

Doc Snyder is awesome. His tests were hard but as long as you "show that you know the physics" he'll give you 4/5 points for every question, regardless of your final answer. He'll also stay after class for however long you need to understand the concepts. The only prerequisite is being willing to think; if you can't do that, you'll probably fail.

This teacher is seriously awful. His lectures are an incoherent mess. He is so unorganized & consistently shows up to class late. He was a pretty good lab teacher, he came up with some ridiculously stupid labs (like counting pennies!). But he made lab fun. He is not a good lecture teacher & he had to crazy curve every test because everyone failed.
