He is a little hard to understand and ventures off topic a little. It is an easy a if you look at his previous tests and study from them.

Had him during COVID-19 semester and he was extremely accommodating and understanding of the situations students were in. Even before semester went online, I thought he was great. The lectures are very proof heavy and can serve to confuse some people, but he provides EXTENSIVE learning glass videos on his website so look at those and you'll be fine

500-level linear is tough. Easy first midterm threw everyone off: it gets exponentially harder afterwards. Do homework and know the textbook. You will get lost in hundreds of definitions and theorems during the exam if you dont know where to find them. Proofs, proofs, and proofs. Need all 7 chapters to understand the results in final chapter 8.

The tests are the same as old ones, the thing is that it's still pretty hard to study even with that. The material is hard and lecture is too focused on proofs however the insights he gives to the abstract parts of the material makes it worth attending. Go to SI or have Professor Khan Academy teach you the stuff Blomgren is too big brain to explain

One of the most understanding professors I've ever had. Tests are straightforward and almost identical to past exams. If a lot of people missed a problem on the test, he will toss the problem out and curve the exams. Before the final, the class median was a 85% which is very high. Overall your easiest and best option for linear algebra.

Professor Blomgren is a good choice. He's generally a good lecturer although the topic itself can get a bit boring and it requires a strong will to stay focused. My only complaint with him is that I didn't study harder. There are 8 homework assignments and iClicker points. 3 exams and a final.

You can tell he is a super knowledgeable professor, but I still learned nothing from his lectures. I recommend going to SI sessions as everything I learned was through them. Tests are very straight forward if you practice his old ones. You can even get extra credit on them. Pretty easy homework every week. Definitely recommend this class!

He is very smart and passionate, and offers a lot of supplemental material to help you understand things. He teaches a lot of abstract aspects of linear algebra. Tests are very straightforward, and he curves a little bit. He is VERY knowledgable in the subject.

Awesome professor especially if you struggle with math or really want to dive in and master the material. He provides so many resources that if you put in any effort you'll pass. His lectures are great, he has videos of him recording dozens of different problems on his website, previous tests, SI lectures, and more. Check out his site!!

Professor Blomgren is seriously a phenomenal teacher. Classes tend to focus on the abstract aspects of linear algebra, but he has plenty of computational problems on his website you can learn from. Dr. Blomgren is a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend this class to anyone thinking of taking it. Work load is fairly standard for a lower div.

Took Blomgren for linear algebra (254). He's very passionate about math, but as a result he goes off on tangents unrelated to class from time-to-time. Uses iClicker for attendance which is counted in the grade. Good professor, just a bit difficult to stay focused during his lectures.

I laugh as my friends at UCSD slave over hours of row reductions, as I, an intellectual, chose a state college with a professor with an IQ high enough to understand that there was more to Linear Algebra than row reductions. The tests were structured well, and you know exactly what's expected. Lectures were rough though, he teaches off powerpoint.

A lot of math and theories in lectures, sometimes hard to follow. SI helps and is recommended to get more practice and understand concepts. Tests and homework are straight forward.

Don't buy the book. 2018 Spring Semester he might tell you there is no book but if he hasn't excluded it from his syllabus just don't buy it. All you need to pass the class are his lecture slides, example videos, and tons of practice. If you put in the time you'll pass with little struggle. Clicker required.

Don't buy the book. He gives study guides, do the problems on learning glass that are similar to the study guide problems. Learn the SLO concepts because they will be on the test. Lectures are recorded so rewatch them and follow the power point material. That will pretty much help u pass the tests, but you will need to put in alot of work.

If you're a math person, you want to take this professor. Period. He gives multiple examples within his lectures without complicating the subject. He spent time outside of class recording lectures to give his students another look at HW problems. I'm definitely going to try to take him again.

His lectures can be really boring but he covers the material well. Clickers were used for attendance. SI instructors were assigned to the class for extra help. Homeworks are online and are pretty easy. He works through all the problems from the book and uploads them. Watch those because he doesn't do examples in class that often.

Really good professor. Lectures are good and clear. Don't necessarily need textbook because lectures already provide the content you'll need. There is 1 homework assignment for each chapter, so make sure to complete them.

Really great guy and is willing to help you if you ask for help. Homework was not that bad, but tests are sometimes hard. If you are not prepared for his tests, you will fail. Random clicker questions. Lectures are sometimes boring but he does record and post them online. Also has extra videos on how to do problems on his site, which was helpful.

Cares a lot about the class and is a good guy. The lectures are pretty useless, but he has clickers. The real help comes from the learning glass videos and SI sections . Do the optional homework and you will be fine.
