Amazing professor. Really easy to get an A in this class, but if you actually listen to his lectures you can learn a lot about mythology because this guy knows his stuff. Has really funny anecdotes and his lectures arent boring.

Comment:

The class was just like what many people have said on here. Easy A and attendance wasn't mandatory. The most difficult part of the class were the two papers which were six pages but they are available for weeks and aren't even that hard. The chapters of reading had quizzes for credit but they were easy. Tests were on canvas and also easy

Comment:

Super funny professor. Tells really funny stories to accompany his presentation points. Incredibly easy class. I recommend this class if you need an easy humanities course. There are 3 unit quizzes and 2 papers that are a breeze. The online text has comprehension quizzes at the end of each one, but they're easy.

Comment:

Frequently goes on pointless tangents and wastes large portion of the lecture on personal anecdotes. Once spent the first 40 minutes of class making us watch a Spongebob episode and then talking about a former student of his. Course material is greatly colored by his own personal philosophies.

Attendance isn't mandatory. Readings and discussions are easy. The tests are easy if you do the readings. There were two papers throughout the semester that weren't too bad. Four tests on the four sections you go through. His lectures are fun and informative. Would recommend.

Comment:

This class was very easy. Attendance was not mandatory. All the tests were taken on canvas at home- open book. I don't feel like I learned very much, but it was easy. The only hard part was two six-page papers. The whole class was easy except those papers were the hardest I wrote all semester. And the graders were not fair across the board.

I took Greek mythology from him. Attendance was never taken but I went anyway because he's a chill, laid-back guy who tells lots of fun stories. So long as you take the open book online tests, and two essays, you'll pass. If you love greek mythology you'll enjoy his lectures

All tests were online, open book, open note, etc. he even gives you muntiple attempts so you can always get 100%. As long as you participate in online discussions and write both papers, youre set.

Randy's approach to learning Coptic is the exact approach I needed. He is laid back, and walks through aspects of the language with you until you understand it. There are no tests or homework; you just learn the language. He is also willing to have class over Skype if it is necessary. But don't skip out on class too much or you will be failed.

Show up and receive your free A, all tests were online and were open everything (notes, Google, whatever). 90% of your grade is based on attendance, very chill guy who likes to crack a lot of jokes.

I found Randy to be condescending. He has a very narrow view of the world and if he can't figure you out, he makes judgments about you. Really bruised my self-esteem and confidence. I wouldn't recommend.

Easy A for general class. He takes attendance and it is a large portion of your grade. All 3 tests were open note online. Homework was easy. 2 papers that were long, but not too difficult. Randy can easily get sidetracked, but still an enjoyable professor who was passionate about what he teaches.

I loved this class very interesting. He counts attendance which is a huge part of your grade. You have online homework which is really easy straight from his book. Two essays, 3 tests, no final, and discussions in class. Super easy class take it if you need HF gen ed credit its worth it. (:

Randy was a chill professor. Most of your grade consists of showing up for participation pts. 3 exams and 2 papers and a special project. I did most of my homework in class since he posts his lectures to canvas.

Super easy class, 50% of your grade is just showing up to class. Great professor, very understanding. He works with his students to make sure they get the grade they want. I would love to take another one of his classes.

As a person, Randy seems like a good guy. But his lectures are really long and he is always talking about random stories. I did not learn a lot and you definitely have to enjoy using your imagination because that is what mythology is.

Very easy class. Does take attendance, so you do have to go to class in order to pass, but there are only a few tests and maybe 3 essays. Overall a very easy course.
