It's an overall easy class.The tests are word by word from the pwrpnts. However Callahan as a professor is just HORRIBLE. He assigns a 10 page paper and grades mostly on how you cite the paper and barely on the content. He makes attendance mandatory because that's how you earn participation points. His annoying jokes are soo lame

Difficulty-wise, the class isn't too bad. Just make sure you review the notes and come to class. I read most of the assigned chapters as well, which probably helped. The class is pretty boring though, Professor Callahan tries to make it interesting, but it always just seemed to drag on.

This is a great class for anyone who has had a lobotomy. For anyone else it is a true test of patience and attempting to entertain yourself with a sketchy internet connection. Avoid if at all possible.

He doesnt like brown for sure! I would not recommended him at all he has a bad disposition and fails any brown students. I don't know how he sleeps at night knowing how much of a pain he is

I'm convinced he has no idea how to cite a paper. Our project was properly cited and checked through an English professor I previously took. Tests are way to hard he thinks a C average on the exams is a good thing. WORST TEACHER AT THIS SCHOOL and I'm a senior who has taken alot of teachers here! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Horrible 3hr class very boring and silly in class assignments mean attendance is mandatory. easy project and easy exams but I def didn't learn much. He's very opinionated and wrong most of the time but if you can bite your tongue and agree with him its an easy grade

Very easy class. I got over 90% on all 3 exams. The questions on the exams are word for word off the powerpoints he uses for lecture and the examples in the book. The book isnt used at all in class but I recommend looking up the terms/concepts covered in lecture in the book b/c it gives good examples. Do this + review the slides = guaranteed A.

He is very boring but an okay class. There are a lot of terms you have to memorize. Do not buy the book. You must go to class to get participation points for a group activity that is easy but useful. You have to do 2 journal entries that are easy.

He is kind of annoying. Class isn't very interesting but attendance is mandatory because of the in class assignments (which determine your participation). Your grade is based on 3 tests, 2 journal entries, and participation. He's really anal about citations in the journals. Memorize the slides and you'll get an A on the tests.

Agree with the last review about the textbook. Don't buy it, you won't open it once. Just study the slides a couple days before the test and you should get an A. Attendance is mandatory, only because of the in-class exercises, which are basically busy work but you get attendance points for them. Two "journal entries," which take about an hour.

He will stress that you buy the book... DON'T. I've gotten A's on both of my tests (haven't taken #3 yet). I quickly read the slides prior to lecture, paid attention during lecture and read the slides prior to the next class. For the tests, I just read over all the chapters' slides, took the practice test and wrote my essay responses ahead of time.

Awesome professor, grade is out of 3 tests, participation in class which makes attendance mandatory, and a 2 page paper. His tests are very easy, he gives extra credit questions worth 6 pts, and gives you the essays a few days ahead of time so you can prepare. He also gives you the previous semester's test so you can test yourself. Excellent proff.

Good prof, reads slides mostly but attendance mandatory for activity grades. essays for test given beforehand make them easy, multiple choice section can be tough so you need to pay attention and study the slides. I didnt buy the book. Got an A-. 1 paper, not too difficult but weird topic and he grades it harshly. overall good and not too tough

He is eccentric & reads powerpoint slides. No need to pay any attention, just review the slides prior to the test. 1 simple paper. Wouldn't say easy A though - cause you do have to memorize a plethora of terms. I will avoid him in the future, I honestly learned nothing.

The Prof was fine. He knew the material and presented it fairly well. I would take him again. Didn't buy the book studied his slides. It's a lot of info so prepare well. No class is easy if you don't study. The more you study the easier you'll understand the material.
