As an introduction to Global Politics, this class surpasses my expectations. The readings are highly relevant and interesting, and the assignments are enjoyable.

Strong is really nice. His classes can be boring, especially if you are not willing to participate or did not do the readings. The class is not particularly hard, and you can get a B+/A- without doing the readings. However, it would be tough to get an A without reading, and there is a ton of reading.

Comment:
Prof. Strong is a very nice guy. He leans to the left, but is open about his political biases and willing to have reasonable discussions. Some pop quizzes, but they're easy if you've read the readings. Classes are lecture heavy, but with moments to discuss. Most work is written papers. Grades on the easy side.

Bobby Strong is a really nice guy that knows what he's talking about but his lectures get a little boring. Pop quizzes on the reading are annoying but easy to bs if you didn't do it. Not a bad class and not hard by any means but it isn't necessarily interesting.

I was really excited about taking global politics, but avoid taking it with Professor Strong if at all possible. Classes are very boring, and he grades really arbritarily. He doesn't seem very approachable either.

Professor Strong is the man! I really didn't think he was an arbitrary grader at all-- people's grades seemed to match their contributions to the class. His lectures are hilarious, too, if you pay attention. Global Pol is a new class, so maybe that's the difference. If you get the chance, take him.

Hard and arbitrary grader, but willing to talk with you about grades (though not re-grade). Favors politics majors. Interesting reading and subject matter, though discussions in class were far too one-sided and would be greatly improved if he let the students participate more.

Just rambles on for an hour at a time, maybe having a conversation, really, with one interested student. Unpredictable and arbitrary grader. Stay away unless you like alot of pointless liberal reading.

Miserable. Rattled on for hours. Completely arbitrary grading (his questions were a waste of time and did not reflect material at all) and ignored all attempts at outside help or better understanding of grading.

If you think teaching is having a guy go up in class and talk to himself, then I suppose he deserves an excellent rating. Boring and self absorbed.

Good lecturer, may seem boring if you don't understand his sense of humor. If you're on the same page, he's sarcastic and hilarious. He won't hate you for disagreeing; he'll hate you for not knowing WHY you disagree.
