Dr. Hitchcock has been the best professor Ive had in my college career thus far. He made organic chemistry fairly understandable for me, a non-chemistry major. If it werent for him I would have failed the class. I can not recommend him enough!

Comment:

Dr. Hitchcock is one of the best professors I've had at this school. He's enthusiastic about organic chemistry, but he's very clear in the way he teaches. There's nothing you won't expect on the exams. The class grade is based on five exams, a final and your lab grade, but he does give out some bonus points. I never expected to do thisgood in orgo.

By far the best professor I have ever had. He makes learning a difficult topic interesting and he dedicates a lot of extra time outside of class in helping students with extra reviews. Lectures are material heavy but you will never get bored with his upbeat personality. I highly recommend him!

Okay, he is 10000000000% the best professor on campus. He's amazing at explaining material, super energetic, and he has a way of phrasing things so that you can actually keep attention on the material. I wish he taught all chem classes because I would switch my major to it! haha

There are very few people on this planet I have more respect and admiration for than Dr. Hitchcock! Hands down best professor I have had in my 4 years at ISU. I had him for both lecture and lab (CHE 233) and I highly recommend doing this as it allows you to develop a better relationship with him. Cannot stress enough how much I love him!!

He is an awesome teacher. He is funny as hell, and makes the class very interesting. He actually makes you not want to fall asleep in his class. He also gives good help, and grades fairly. He is the best teacher I have ever had.

Dr. Hitchcock is an amazing professor! He not only makes you excited to learn but actually makes you care. His lectures are really really good and he explains everything. But this is still O chem and definitely not an easy A but you will learn a lot, laugh a lot, and love Dr. Hitchcock by the end of the term.

Dr. Hitchcock is the best professor I've had at ISU. He is so dedicated to making sure his students understand the material and is always willing to help. The course is difficult itself but I don't think I would have survived if I didn't take it Dr. H. He is a very understandable professor and wants all his students to succeed.

Dr. Hitchcock does everything he can to make sure his students understand the material. He will have up to 4 review sessions before an exam. He also is fairly generous with extra credit. If you at any point need help, email him, or visit his office. He is one of the most accessible professors I have ever met.

Amazing professor and even better person! Manages to make one of the most difficult subjects fun and exciting. I genuinely enjoyed coming to Dr. Hitchcock's labs. However, be prepared to put effort into the course or else it will be easy to fail. That is simply the nature of organic chemistry.

He is an amazing professor who cares greatly for his students. He gives his students all of the materials that they need to do well on a test and tells them exactly what they should do to get a good grade in the class. You definitely have to go to class because he writes all of his lectures on the board, so there are no lecture slides.

Dr. Hitchcock is an amazing lab instructor. He is very safety cautious and very attentive. He writes down and explains the mechanisms that we are being done in lab. There are lab papers to be typed and lab notebooks due as well but this is a very exciting lab. Especially once you reach the unknown portion of the lab

He was genuinely a nice professor however, I just have an extreme difficulty with chemistry. This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken and I think I would have gotten an F in the lecture if I did not have Dr. Hitchcock. He gives out packets with problems and important concepts for every chapter.

Dr. Hitchcock is very enthusiastic and you can tell that he really wants everyone to be successful in his class. He is very reachable, even giving students his cell for if any extra help is needed. The exams are exactly like the (optional) homework that he assigns, and he gives a lot of extra credit. The book is not necessary.

If you struggled with any other chemistry class, he will help you understand the difficult concepts you may have struggled with.

Comment:

This professor is one of the most caring teachers I have had. He really wants you to succeed and will make sure you do not fail as long as you are willing to do the work. You have to keep up with the material everyday but he gives you practice exams for every test and extra worksheets for each chapter. Take advantage of the material he gives you.
