*DON't* He is a very good person and very knowledgable. I would not trust him as a professor though. So many of my classmates failed is class it's ridiculous. If you want to graduate with your friends and not be an embarrassment to your family, do not take this class. He lacks empathy and does not help you. You need to work extremely hard to pass.

This class was harder than the 400-level classes in my major and easily the hardest class I've ever taken. The class was almost all bio majors, but exam averages were frequently in the D- range and he refused to curve. His expectations were too high for a 200-level class. If you're not a bio major but need a science elective, take another class.

Is not a nice teacher. Knows his class is hard and exams average less than a 70% most times, but refuses to curve or even offer extra credit aside from a few bonus questions on exams. Can't afford to miss any labs because he won't allow you to make most of them up and they're very drawing based. Will often be spending extra time in the lab.

A great professor. He really knows what he's talking about and is very helpful if you ask questions. Be prepared to study. Go over your notes and write graphs/charts out. You will need to take time to go into the labs to make sure you know how to identify organisms. I really enjoyed the class and remember a lot of the concepts I learned.

Dr. B makes his expectations really clear and tells students how to succeed in his class. It's up to you to put in the work. The exams are multiple choice and come directly from lecture notes. Sometimes he tries to be tricky with exam questions so make sure you truly understand the material. The drawings for lab are the worst part about this class.

Dr. B is the best professor I have had at UWO, most kids in class will hate him because he really pushes you to study and know all of the material that he goes over. His lectures are efficent and organized and while he references the book often it is not required in my opinion. Class is hard and be prepared to study, study, study.

He'll tell you that his tests don't contain trick questions, but they do! Beware of the "all of the above" or "none of the above" questions. He seemed to enjoy that students weren't passing the class. Make sure you take a different professor for lecture or lab if you can.

As a senior I needed this class to graduate. I am a science major so was expecting it to be easy. I. Was. Wrong. He treats this class like everyone there are science majors when most of them are not, and he teaches it like its a 300 level class. Tries to trick you on exams and uses all or none of the above.

One of the worst professors that I have ever had. His exams are full of trick questions, although he will claim that they are not. This class was absolutely not representative of a 100 level course.

Absolutely fascinating class and subject, and Prof. B really knows his stuff. Amazing teacher, but Mycology is HARD. This is one of the hardest Biology courses in the department. You WILL study 10-15+ hours on an exam. You will have to learn an f ton of taxonomy, life cycles, and anatomy. Limited extra credit. Have LIGHT course/credit load.

Dr. B is by far my favorite professor I've taken all throughout college. He is super passionate about what he teaches which really helps you to get into it as well. He's a tough grader and gives challenging projects and exams but it's so worth it. I learned so much from his classes and I also have taken every course he's taught. He's the bomb.

Dr. B is a very intelligent professor. He clearly is passionate about what he teaches and does a good job showing that during his lectures. He also knows a lot about things other than what are on his syllabus so don't be afraid to ask him questions. That being said he expects a lot out of a 100 level class, tests are very difficult, you must study.

Very smart guy who gives you an incredible understanding and appreciation for biology. With that said, this class was by far the hardest I have ever taken. He gives you all the tools to succeed, but there is an immaculate amount of memorization. Do not let the 106 deceive you, I have taken far easier level 300 courses.

Wouldn't recommend taking this class if you are a busy person. *lots and lots of memorizing, weekly quizzes in lab (which are not multiple choice) all lab exams are short answer/essay. Very Very Hard.
