Comment:
This was Uta's first time teaching this course (about immigration on a global scale), but the learning experiences weren't relevant to the course. Also, she is very unorganized, and she tried very hard but didn't acknowledge her faults, which made the mediocrity of the course snowball. The course isn't hard but she barely taught anything valuable.

Uta is a good professor. I took a German class with her and learned a lot. She speaks German for the majority of the class so it is great for immersion. She encourages discussion and group participation and gives great feedback on papers. She does assign a lot of writing hw but it pays off. I'm not sure if I would take her class again however.

Uta is a fantastic teacher. I had her for GER 260. She does care a lot abut her students and is truly passionate about her subject. Be careful with exams and quizzes. She's very precise and will dock off points for small things. Many of the questions will be somewhat opinion-based, and if your opinion doesn't match her's shell dock points.

I've taken two Holocaust courses with Uta in addition to German, and she is definitely one of my favorite professors. The work is sometimes difficult, but in no way impossible and she very much cares for students who show genuine interest. I highly recommend taking BOTH of the Holocaust courses that she teaches.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience; there is no other college class like this in the country. you are interviewing Holocaust survivors; soon there will be none left. This class was not very demanding and she was very easy grader on the papers. But it's a very interesting class if you actually do the readings. She's a German Christian-inspiring

One of the best professors Goucher has. I took every class I could with her. A bunch of years after graduating, we are still in touch about intellectual and personal things.

Great class but a LOT of hard work. Lots of reading, LOTS of writing, LOTS of videos to watch and discuss. Worth the effort though. She's very passionate and cares an incredible amount about the Holocaust and her students. I highly recommend it!

Uta is tough but kind. You WILL work hard in this class and there is a LOT of work to be done, but it's worth it at the end of the year. She's always available and always takes each student aside to make sure they are handling the material ok.
