Comment:
She presents herself as a woman with a lot of anger. Her comments are short, terse, and altogether unfriendly. When asked a question, she responds quickly and with a cutting sarcasm or bitterness that is hard to take. I would avoid taking her class as she really isn't enjoyable to be around.

Prof. Fizzard is a good lecturer. The exams and essays were straightforward. Participation and attendance helped your mark. Lectures were easy to follow and she was always willing to answer any questions.

Good lecturer, but has unreal expectations for the papers. Makes you pick your paper topic out of the blue months in advance. You are unable to change it once you pick it. No time to research that topic, so you could be stuck with an awful one. Was extremely picky about EVERYTHING, too much for a 200 level.

Fizzard was a great lecturer, and knew her medieval history. Her marking is atrocious. Marks in her class were terrible, lowest history mark ever. Has unreal expectations for a 200level class. Expects one thing, but will mark you wrong for the same thing. Expects too much, her very specific way or its wrong. Confused as to what her way even is...

Dr. Fizzard is a good teacher with some very dry material. I had no idea that there was a theme for the course and I learned there can be an entire class on the History of Food and Agriculture. Nevertheless, an interesting professor that knows her stuff, but is also a self-proclaimed hard marker. Weird sense of humour as well. No use of textbook.

Definitely a stereotypical history geek. Super nice lady, very helpful, tends to ramble - but I don't doubt she gets a lot of terrible assignments. She's very nitpicky, coursework is a bit dry. Must take lots of notes. She genuinely wants her students to do well, and is very accessible.

As a history major I think professor Fizzard was a great prof. She was incredibly passionate about her subject and clear in her assignments. Tests were relatively easy compared to other history classes I have taken. It also helps that she uses images and examples to explain things.

This women definitely knows what she is talking about and is very good at teaching. Her classes flew by and were always interesting as long as you were interested in the subject. Watch her marking on the term paper though, especially if this is your first history class. She likes lots of examples!

She is a pretty decent prof. Her lectures are really easy to follow and the outline really helps a lot. However, the way she lets you pick paper topics is ridiculous and not at all fair. This is the second class I have taken from her and I would take another one for sure.

I personally did not like Dr. Fizzard. I usually get very high marks, especially in history, but the mark I received from her was by far my lowest ever! She is a very hard marker with somewhat ridiculous expectations. She is very general, I had two hundred pages of notes to study from. The final was random, she picks the littelst thing to put on it

This woman is ridiculous. She annoyingly laughs at awkward moments and at things that aren't even remotely funny. She has insane expectations for her papers and the way you pick topics is unfair. It's hard to get an interesting one and even harder to find books when you share the topic with someone else. Also, you take WAAAY too many notes duri

organized, and loves her topic. made class entertaining. be sure you get the readings and photocopy them at the start of the semester though -- she only puts one copy on reserve. also, make sure your paper somehow involves her area of specialty (medieval religion) for a better mark.

She constantly laughs at things that are not even funny, which is distracting and annoying. I figured that she marked my term paper quite hard. She seems like a nice person but she tends to teach stuff that is clearly irrelevant which is a waste of time in my opinion. Avoid her if possible

There is no doubt that Professor Fizzard is a nice person, but I think she could work on a few things. It was hard to keep track of all the information when she didn't want to concentrate on dates. Also, I bought the text and she never refrenced it once, until the last day for final exam prep. People who could use it on the exam got better marks.

She was a very jolly and friendly person. She made going to class fun even though the diets of early medieval peasants wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be... I would highly recommend her as a professor, but I don't know about the class itself.

Does being able to name all the The Gashlycrumb Tinies count as legitimate curriculum? Rambling on about Milkbars and Franny Glass makes for fascinating lectures, but my academic career is suffering. Grab the shovel Harold. -sf
