Angela is a very knowledgable instructor with lots of experience in the engineering field to share. She expects you to truly know the material, not memorize equations. If you're not willing to work hard and put the time in, don't take classes from her. Do the work she tells you to do and you will passand learn a lot in the process.

Poblems arose when she assured me at office hours I was doing things right, and then gave me 60%s later for grades. She would show up late and leave early for office hours. When going to talk to her about issues I was having, she didnt try to help, instead wrote me off and said its too early for me to tell if you should drop the class. Wow thx.

Uses a novel system for test corrections: basically you get a week after a test to go into their office and re-attempt similar problem(s) to the one(s) you failed on (for partial credit). You can go back as many times as you want, and she will help you right there if you're still not getting it. 10/10 wish more classes did things that way.

Angela doesn't have unrealistic expectations regarding what you should know for on a test. Do the ALL of the homework(this is where all of the test questions come from/are based on) and talk to her during office hours regarding anything you don't understand and you'll do great. As long as you show effort she's very accommodating and fair.

In a typical week you will have to master a new concept about every other day and do 100-200 graded problems. There are 3 tests, all worth 25% each, and you get maybe 2-3 days to review the material (and these tests cover a LOT). Doing well meant studying 3-4 hours per day. I personally disliked the course.

Great teacher. The other day someone asked a question that she didn't immediately know the answer to (do all functions with property A also have property B or something like that). She thought about it, took input from the class, outlined her reasoning, then gave an answer. So refreshing to have that kind of back and forth with a math instructor.

Lots of little details need to be at perfection for homework turn in. And 50% of the class is going over the same problem for a hour and a half.

Angela comes of as a "engineery", nerdy type of person. Initially she seemed to me to be very strict. My first class with her was MTH-231, discrete math, and I had a very difficult time in that course; classes are 80% test grade After taking the second course in the series with Angela, I had learned she is very fair and rewards those put in effort.

Angela is pretty strict with the homework guidelines, and grading of In class worksheets and tests, but she is a very proficient teacher who is enjoyable to listen too and if you do everything that is assigned the tests are fairly straightforward.

I am sad to say that Angela was a condescending teacher. This was my first math class in 5 years, and she went into the class with an expectation that we were closely familiar with what she was teaching, so she was impatient about explaining . I ended up teaching myself. However, I appreciated her dry sense of humor.

I ended up with an A in this class because I busted my butt studying for the final, but barely scraped by the rest of the term. I've taken higher level math classes since Angela's math 95 class and none of them have been nearly as difficult. She wasn't really accessible and didn't actually do any of her own lectures or instructing.

Easily the most difficult class I've taken (and I have a prior Bachelors degree). Moodle page is a hot mess, and Webassign isn't much better. Lots of homework, quizzes just about every week, but the exams were much harder than any of the homework or quizzes so I didn't feel like they did much to prepare us. Didn't get much assistance or guidance.

Angela is a good teacher. You are the one who has to do the work, not her. So do it and you will be fine. She gave a test every Friday and you get your grade on Monday. Don't expect her to use the LCC Moodle because she does not. She assigns homework, but it is only for you and not turned in. She is extremely fair in her grading. I would definitelt

Horrible math structure for me personally. There is no graded homework which makes it tough for someone like me to be motivated to do the worksheets passed out. 15% of grade was attendance, 15% was the final exam, the other 70% came from weekly tests.

Great Person. She actually had a career in engineering. She works to improve the engineering program at Lane. I have had her as a teacher 4 times. She's tough but not mean tough. It's realistic tough like the LCC physics classes :P If you're willing to work she's great. Want an easy A? Look elsewhere.

I love Angela; she is one of my favorite teachers at Lane. She has strict homework guidelines, but they are fully explained on Moodle and not a hassle to follow. Attendance is only mandatory on workshop and test days, but it is a good idea to be in class every day to understand the material. She has office hours and is willing to help after class.

Angela is a control freak who is more concerned about showing you how good she is with math. Calculus is hard enough without her making it harder. Avoid her at all cost.
