Expectations were unclear. Never gave grade back until the day of the next performance! It was virtually impossible to get an A, as her first impression slotted you at a certain level, and then you would "improve" throughout the semester. Did the best performance of my life and still got only a B+. Not an easy A, but (can be) a really fun B.

she seems to know a lot about theatre and directing, and was able to teach our class a lot about verbing and deconstructing our characters. however, i found her directing style to be very harsh. i felt she put up obstacles for actors and didn't help them overcome them. i felt she could have been a lot more helpful and supportive of her students.

Very easy going prof. Made the course more about theatre in general rather than just reading play after play (big plus!). Required play texts were only $20-$30, since she photocopied her own. Very easy prof for a very easy course. Be sure to contribute and ask questions, she holds in-class participation quite highly. A big group project required!

I learned a lot from her. She takes into account the performance level that you're at (beginning of semester) and tries to raise it for your benefit (but that also means that marking gets harder). It can be tough at times, but that's simply for learning purposes and it's all worth it in the end.
