He's so smart. You can tell that he's had a lot of experience in the field and his lectures are FILLED with all sorts of information. In terms of grades, you truly get what you deserve. Just take a couple days to study before exams, and you'll get that A.

Lots of reading, with a reading response due every day of class. No tests and a final literature review paper and presentation at the end of the semester. Very caring guy. Class is discussion-based so participation is important, but it's an easy A as long as you show up to class and turn in the work.

lots of reading, but is manageable since there aren't any exams or quizzes, just two four page short and easy literature reviews at the end of class. Participation is huge in this class and very easy if you do the readings, don't worry about them, most of them are very interesting.. ECK IS AMAZING, I LOVE HIM GET TO KNOW HIM AND TAKE HIS CLASSES!!

A challenging course, but LIFE CHANGING! YOU LEARN SO MUCH! No exams. 2 Rough Drafts. reading/response, Class participation is a MUST (helpful for your paper) and ALL material read in class can be used as sources for final paper + final 10min presentation! You will knw PERFECT APA by the end this course! Great prep 4 preparing thesis at grad level!

Good professor, but class organization is terrible. Quizzes and exams are obviously based on previous editions of the textbook, and include many topics that have been removed from the current version of the text. Admins should realize that updating a required text must be accompanied by updating course materials as well.

Great professor! Lots of good primary text reading and reading notes, a final paper/presentation, but that's it! No exams, quizzes, etc. Usually flexible/understanding about due dates, too. Very brilliant and compassionate professor and has contributed to one of the most meaningful courses I have taken at APU. Thank you!

Great great great professor. Engages the class well, funny, but very knowledgable too (beyond just psych history but grad school stuff, too). Seems like the ideal classic professor. Pop-quizzes are often warned, flexible with some due dates, very understanding but within reason. Need both books, though (expensive)!.

Eck is an exemplary professor. Very clearly explains the subject a lot of depth. The workload is intense, a lot of information to learn. But the professor truly cares about his students and helps you as much as you need. You can tell he loves the subject.

Dr. Eck is the best psychology professor I have taken at APU. He is what all the other psychology classes should be he believes we have enough potential to be challenged. As well clear- he tells you what he expects and if you put in the work you can fully succeed in his class. I loved this class and Dr. Eck as my professor. TAKE HIM!!!!

A lot of students had warned me about taking Dr. Eck's class. I am so happy I didn't listen to them! History of psych was one of my favorite psych classes at apu. He is a very nice guy who genuinely cares about his students. You will learn so much. The homework/tests are not any harder than any other u.d. psych class here.

A lot of people had told me that Dr. Eck was super hard and doesn't give As. Well that is NOT true at all. I took him for History of Psych as well as Christianity and Psych Integration and it was not bad at all. Everything is clear and do-able. He was an amazing professor and I definitely recommend him. I learned SO much!

Dr. Eck was definitely a challenging professor, but I learned so much!! He is a professor that will really make you learn the material, but he still makes it incredibly intriguing. I definitely gained a whole new respect for the history of psychology through the course!

This class isn't really as hard as everyone says. To do well, you should do a lot of reading. Or you could just study like crazy before each test and hope you get lucky on the quizzes. Anyway Eck is great. I think he's really interesting and a great lecturer.

Comment:

Psych and Christianity was one of my favorite classes ever. It's kind of hard to rate on easiness because if you put forth the effort and turn everything in, you'll get an A no problem. The hard part is doing all the reading and writing that's required. But you'll learn a lot and it's all really interesting. It's a fun discussion class. Take it.

Four big exams, 10 mini quizzes that he gives randomly, and one ten page paper. Other than that, class isn't as hard as people make it out to be, although you will have to put A LOT of time/effort into studying material. Eck likes to lecture a lot, but he isn't a bad guy.
