Compared to other professors, his EXAMS are a walk in the park. Sequences and series exam was a complete joke. 55 minute exam.

One of my all time favorite professors. You get to use a note sheet on exams and even the final. A calculator can be used on some exams. Most math professors don't allow any of this. His lectures are great and they don't put you to sleep. 10/10

He is hands down the best professor I have ever had. Hes a very good visual teacher. His exams are exactly like the homework and hes reviews for them are extremely helpful, he doesn't try to trick you he just wants to make sure you know the material. Hes also just a very interesting guy, full of fun facts and cool stories.

Boyles is exactly what the math department at UWP needs more of. He gave amazing lectures that really got the class engaged and you can tell he is really passionate about math. Got me excited about learning math again in a class everyone usually hates. Only grades tests but he was very fair and much better than most other math professors. TAKE HIM.

Probably my favorite professor on campus. He made math fun again for me, something that I haven't had a lot of fun with since Calc I my junior year of high school. He cracks a lot of crazy jokes, but through that explains everything really well. No official homework, but if you do the suggested problems you will get an A.

Professor Boyles is the best math professor I've had on this campus so far. He's very easy to understand and he generally cares about you succeeding in the course. On a side note he's also very funny. Beware he sometimes gets off topic during lectures (although not for long) and he only grades a few things. For our class homework was optional.

Hilarious during his lectures and huge classic rock lover. Amazing lectures makes the tough lessons seem easy and the easy ones even easier. Always available outside class and very lenient on homework and tests.

He teaches and helps you understand math very well. This being said, he does not prepare you if you take a different professor for calc 2 and 3. If you do end up taking him, make sure that you don't become too dependent on the note sheet and calculator on your tests otherwise you may find yourself to be in trouble for the next calc class you take.

Gives great examples. Class seems to last forever because of all of the stories, but you learn ALOT of math in the class period. Lets you use a note sheet and calculator on all exams besides the final. If you want a good grasp on the math concepts take his class. Great professor!

Alot of the homework questions are extremely hard but the tests arent too bad, especially because he allows you to use a sheet of paper and calculator. He's one of the few math professors in the school who understand the struggles of being a student and how unnecessary the memorization of 50 formulas is in the real world. hes definitely in my top 5

You do homework on your own time only graded assignments are the tests. He will give you everything you need to Know for the test the day before. If you pay attention in class and do the practice problems before the tests you will get a really good grade. I put maybe 10 hours into the class this semester and will receive a B or better

He doesn't make you turn in homework, but doing the homework helps a ton, because that's the exam questions. He gives you example exams to practice from and review questions. The class is based only on exams and the final. Do the homework and you'll get an A. He's also funny and doesn't take himself too seriously.

Amazing guy! Definitely would recommend anyone to take him. Very down to earth man with a chill attitude towards math. Allowed my class to use a note sheet and a calculator on every exam except the final. Teaches you what you need to know and skips over the things that do not matter. Homework is offered but not graded, tests weren't too hard.

Fantastic teacher; would recommend him to anyone. Not only does he teach the material well, but he is also extremely pragmatic, helpful, and down-to-Earth. Doesn't take himself too seriously and is respectful to everyone. Always willing to help during class or his office hours. If he ran the math department, it would be a LOT better.

I love this guy as a professor and as a person. Always take him if you get the chance people! Assigns homework but doesn't usually collect it. Goes over any questions on the homework that we said we had trouble on. Isn't the easiest grader, but definitely fair. He will tell you exactly what to expect on the tests and gives great examples.

Boyles will open your mind to a new world of mathematics. In his class you will take physics apart piece by piece and truly understand why it works. He isn't about memorizing formulas and if he had the time, he'd probably prove everything he teaches about in class. Also, do the homework. Even if it's not graded. You'll thank me later.

Boyles is an extremely intelligent mathematician, but doesn't teach students what they need to know for the final. He teaches the math he thinks is important in life, which would be great if the final was made by him. He goes through lots of examples and its not too hard to get an A. Take him if you like to be wowed about the universe and math.

If you can, take Calc II with Boyles! He is really smart and can be funny, though I'm not sure if he realizes it. He goes through a lot more examples than concepts, which is good for Calc II.

By far the best teacher I've had here so far. He is extremely passionate about math, and is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. The practice problems he assigns every night are very helpful and he does not grade them, and he is a very easy grader on tests. Highly recommend taking him for any math class he teaches.

Probably the coolest guy ever. Makes references to the 1960's, Wayne's world and rock bands of the '60s and '70s a lot. Doesn't grade homework, the grade is completely dependent on test scores, but that's fine because he's very generous in grading and gives a lot of partial credit.
