I haven't gotten my grade back yet, but I couldn't thank this man enough for making torts so interesting and fun. He simultaneously kept the class laughing while teaching the nitty-gritty. His exam was reasonable, but definitely know the cases. Overall, he's a very fair and interesting man. Pay more attention to his analysis not the textbook!

professor engel was by far the best teacher I had my first semester of law school. do the reading assignments and come to class ready to take notes on the class discussion since his exam is based on what he talks about in class. he's very helpful and does a great job explaining the material. I HIGHLY recommend him for any class he teaches

Great Professor. He does cold call but he is extremely nice and does not make you feel stupid. Do the readings but most importantly, PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS and take lots of good notes. He allows laptops.

Engle is a pretty decent guy. Definately not a stand out UB professor. HE seems more interested in going on trips to Tibet then actually doing his job in buffalo but hey, his exam was open book so hes good in my book. If you like taking an exam in december and getting your grade in march , Engle is your man.

Engel is one of those rare top-notch communicators who is actually interested in student learning. He is patient with those who require it (without compromising) and pushes the envelope with those who can take it to the next level. He should coach his fellow profs on what makes a good learning experience for students.
