Comment:

The worst professor I have ever had. Gives too many assignments, each one with a different group that you are required to meet with outside of class. Takes months to grade even simple assignments. Taught almost no content yet praises himself often for his teaching. Avoid if you can!

Comment:

I have never been in a class like Dr. Showers', the grading scheme is a little odd & the class is highly discussion based. With that being said, I loved showing up to this class every single day. I would always learn something new, & I felt that my opinion/knowledge was valued. 97-100 is an A but if you participate and do what he asks, u will be ok

Comment:

Dr. Showers is the most interesting professor I have had at Geneseo. His teaching style can be extremely vague at times yet it is clear he has an idea of what he wants. Easy to get an A in the class as long as you don't half ass the work. Plenty of group projects so be ready for that. It is clear that he wants the best for his students.

Comment:

I had Showers for INTD 105 (writing for and about the sciences) & he was absolutely amazing. I loved how helpful he was both in and out of class. I chose this INTD because I thought it would help with my major & he made it one of my favorite classes! We had a lot of freedom about what we wanted to write and he was extremely helpful with my papers!

Comment:

This is the best professor at Geneseo. If you can take him for ANY class, do it. Incredibly smart and funny. Is sooo good to all of his students and genuinely cares about your success. He is super reasonable with grading. If you do the work and show up to class, you're going to do fine. Literally cant say enough good things about him.

LOTS of homework! There is a lot of homework, but literally none of it is hard. This class is honestly an easy A if you take it for INTD, as long as you do all the work, and unfortunately there is a lot of it. Showers is a funny guy and the whole class requires participation, you will have to talk a lot

I really liked him, and respected him as a student. He was one of the professors who replied to e-mails very promptly. His material can get confusing but he tries his hardest to make everything clear. He's also given me a recommendation and I believe that he truly wants you to succeed. He's fair - you have to work for the grade you want.

He gave us the midterm two weeks before the final, and expected us to answer the questions based solely on one educator's opinions/theories (from the text books, using terms that are not applicable anywhere else in the educational world. In a short answer test, he was disparaging toward the use of an example to explain/elaborate the answer. -_-

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! He is such a nice guy and always willing to help. He makes class very interesting and engaging. He is very clear about what he wants and explains material so that it is easily understood. He can something completely foreign and get you to understand it rather quickly. His class was fun and I would recommend him :)

He was by far my favorite professor I have had at Geneseo so far. He made the hour and forty minutes go by fairly quickly with in class activities. If I can I will definitely take him again. If you have the option take Showers!

He reminds me of House A LOT. Hes sarcastic, mocks people, and makes stupid jokes. If you like that in a person you'll love him. If you don't,like me, you WON'T. He's a boring lecturer. No hands-on in this class. Goes quickly through notes. Easy assignments, only calls on you when you DON'T have your hand raised :/ He's only OK. Teaching is sub-par

This teacher is amazing. He is so funny and makes fun of me a lot! His class is an hour and 40 minutes, but it goes by so fast! Last class we played with paper airplanes. I recommend him because he knows how to relate to students!

Deceit in Politics is a great class taught by a great teacher. The homework is simple, and the only paper is three homework assignments combined into one. He presents all of the material in an easy-to-understand and fun manner. Class goes by too quickly. Great teacher.

I am currently in this class so I am not sure how my grade will be when it's all said and done, but Showers is a good prof and he seems to know his stuff. Lectures are boring but 90% of the time is fun in class activities. I would recommend him.
