I LOVE EDDY SPAGHETTI! The class was great! I had his class in Lux, and I loved it. It was hard material, but you're not really supposed to understand, it's just to get you thinking. The study tour to Berlin was great, and I miss him a lot! He's a great guy in and out of the classroom, I am sad to see him retire!

I took Dr. Tomarken's class while studying in Luxembourg. I thought he was challenging and original. someone who was able to laugh at himself and expects the most for his students and is upset when they can not deliver.

I have to admit that I am surprised by some of the statements below. If you come to class prepared and with a sound understanding of what you have read, you will find Tomarken to be a fair and thought-provoking professor. If you are a whiny low achiever who thinks professors are there to praise your meager talent, may I suggest Women's Studies?

ALRIGHT LISTEN. This man is one of the worst human beings still crawling the planet. He should have been banished from Miami University about 80 years ago. He has his students teach the bulk of his classes for him-presentations run 30 plus minutes-while he sits back and makes snide remarks about the information and opinions presented. STAY AWAY.

I liked Tomarken a lot - yeah you have to read and yeah you need to watch movies but he's really fair. If you suck at shakespeare, you suck at shakespeare and he'll tell you. He's very traditional but i raelly liked his class.

With every inch of my heart, I regret taking Tomarken's class. He is the pinnacle of arrogance substituting intelligence. He actually said to me, "While you have very strong and intelligent opinions, and I value your participation in class, I don't think you've earned those opinions." Take his class at your own peril--you've been warned.

NOT A CUTE OLD MAN, he's absolutely without question the worst professor i have had. condescending, victimizing, i can't say enough terrible things about him. you will regret taking him, i promise you. save yourself a WHOLE LOT OF TROUBLE, JUST TRUST ME. I used to love Shakespeare, and he made me HATE IT. Not kidding.

Awful. He lets you venture at guessing what something means, tells you you're all wrong, then gives you an interpretation that's levels and levels above where any undergraduate would be. It makes for a really unproductive semester.
