This class was by far my favorite class that I've taken at Truman. This class was super interesting and the reading material felt sometimes like a lot in between the class periods but wasn't hard to get through. There were 4 papers in the class, but she gives good feedback and is available to help. I would recommend this JINS class to anyone.

I was excited for this class, and it turned out to be rough. Prof Bird doesn't make it interesting, & scared a lot of us into thinking we would be awful parents. It was a LOT of busy-work. We had discussion boards & assignments due 3-4 times a week. I was definitely overwhelmed, & I wish I chose a different JINS. It's a relatively easy A, though.

I have taken Evonne for 3 different classes now (ES 190 and 202, and HLTH 198), and I really like her and how she teaches. She makes it very clear what she wants you to know, and are all very easy classes. She rarely ever gives homework and is a very caring individual. I highly recommend taking her classes.

Professor Bird is a very nice teacher and is always willing to give feedback, do not slack off because it is a one-credit course- she will push you to learn the material but the class is very do-able. She is very clear on what is expected, GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!!

ES202 is lowkey hard because of the weekly timed quizzes. It's 15 min for 15 questions which doesn't seem bad, but if you don't immediately know the answer you don't have a lot of time to look it up either. I recommend going to her office hours & reviewing the ones you get wrong because a few will repeat on the next quiz. Nice lady, don't be late.

ES 190 with Bird felt like a repeat of every unimportant class I took in high school. She isn't particularly bad, but certainly isn't great either. You'll have to pay attention in class many things she teaches are true, but a lot are medical myths long-disproven by plenty of research. No tests except the final, several papers, and some quizzes.

The online health class is definitely not my cup of tea (would not recommend), but Prof. Bird is willing to work with you during office hours. If you can't get an assignment done she'll usually give you an extension for about a week. Also, the final carries a ton of points so you can raise your grade significantly if you prep for that.

Evonne talks to you like you are a child. She runs her classroom like you are back in high school which not only hinders your productivity but it makes you dread every moment that you spend in her class. All in all it's not worth the amount of work she requires of you. She makes her assignments so much more complicated than they need to be.

Just Terrible. Too much work for "Gym" class. I did more work in this class that my major classes. If you have options, stay away from her. I didn't learn anything. There is an assignment due 4-5 times times a week.

The online HLTH class is an easy A, just be aware of having to write an easy paper once a week. Bird will give you a 0 for something if it is not in correct format, so just be keen on details and you'll excel. Super easy A though.

If you do the assignments you will receive an A. Benefits: - You do not have to go to class - Your grade is 100% on your hands Drawbacks: -You have way too much homework (a quiz, completion of 50 questions for a chapter, an essay, and a homework assignment every week ( it sounds worse than what it is. They do not take too long))

An easy A if you do all the work, but that being said, there is WAY too much busy work for this class. I didn't learn anything new, but at least I got credit for Health. I really did not enjoy the weekly quizzes, as they contained a lot of questions about tiny insignificant details in the book. Buy the physical textbook over the online one.

There are not clear guidelines when she gives papers so you don't know what she's grading for. Overall I didn't learn much in this class at all besides common sense stuff. If you can get a different professor take them.

Online course is full of busy work which is annoying, but easy. Do assignments on time and you'll get an A. Didn't see the professor, but she sent out weekly assignment reminder emails. You need to buy the online textbook to complete modules, but you don't need to read the chapters. You can Google the answers to everything. Requirement fulfilled.

I took the online health class. Didn't interact with Bird at all honestly, so don't know anything about her. As far as this class goes it's pretty pointless. A health class is required here, however, so I would take this one. Super easy A if you do work on time. Lot's of pointless homework however, Learnsmart is very time consuming.

Good teacher. Very easy class. She tried to make the lecture more interesting, which was hard to do with such easy material. Still good though.

I'm not sure how helpful she really is since I never talked with her, but this class was completely worthless. It is basically a repeat of high school health. Completing all of the homework is way more time-consuming than it should be and doesn't actually teach you anything.

I took the online version of the mandatory health education class and may I suggest getting the physical copy of the textbook instead of the online version. It was very time consuming for an online class, but doable, and was essentially a repeat of any high school health class. I never saw Bird except for the few video lectures online.

She was a pretty straightforward teacher. Kind of high school-ish, but a good transition class. Do the work, and she'll be fine.
