For the first ten weeks of class all we did was watch movies and write opinion based papers that had nothing to do with child psych. Doesn't lecture but talks about her family and how a marriage should be. Nothing she lectures on is on the only two tests she gives. Never uses book or the information in those chapters. 10/10 waste of time.

Dr. Martin is a great person. She loves all of her students as long as they show her respect. She is a hard professor because she wants her students to succeed. If you want a easy laid back class and do not have to do anything then dont take her class. She does make you work but she does it to make you prepared for your future.

She is a very nice lady and will help if you ask for it. She does require several papers and gives hard test but She is fair. She really doesn't follow the syllabus but once you get to know her, you know what to expect. She is a good teacher but just talks alot. If your just coming into the course, it takes some getting used to.

I got all A's in her class, still one of the hardest teachers ever. Got variances to eliminate her class. She doesn't follow her own notes or textbook. Asks for too many papers and community service. Very tough. Nice lady, just difficult teacher. Her HDA classes do not transfer to any other colleges or university so it is a waste of your time.

Shes a really nice lady, but shes a bad teacher. Spends all 2 hours talking about herself, you cant ask her questions because she'll be rude and she doesnt stay in order with the chapters so you never know what to study & all the tests are information you never covered. Gives a lot of papers, and shes really opinionated.

I asked for help on what to study for the test & she just told me to look at the syllabus, that it told me everything to study. When I went to study, the syllabus said chapters we never even discussed. So I failed the exam. I'm a hardworking student, I got As in every other class that semester except for hers.

I didn't learn a thing the entire semester. She's very opinionated, she preeches to you instead of teaching. Only talks about her family. She even criticized a student in the class for the way they raised their children. Horrible teacher. Avoid taking her if you can.

If someone had talked about how she teaches the class, I would never taken her class. Ever!!she just sits on the chair, talking non-stop for 2 hours and half min. doesn't have break time whatsoever. TALKING about useless things that it's not even related to psychology. She doesnt give out any notes. basically she sucks. cant teach, seriously.

Dr. Martin is a sweet, caring, wonderful professor. Those who gave her negative comments are probably holding grudges for some error they had made. As long as you are not tardy, hand in your work, and be respectful, you should have no problem (as with any other class!). She is always there to help, as she cares greatly for her students!

WORST TEACHER EVER! NEVER USED THE BOOK OR THE WORKBOOK THAT CAME WITH IT WHICH COST OVER 150 DOLLARS. RUDE! TLKAS ABOUT HER OWN KIDS WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE. LEARNED HARDLY ANYTHING ABOUT CHILD PSYCHOLOGY. VERBALLY ASSAULTED ME IN FRONT OF MY ENTIRE CLASS ONE DAY AND THEN TOLD ME I WROTE A PAPER LIKE A THIRD GRADER. TAKE MANGANELLO FOR CHILD PSYCH!!

Once you take one of her classes and study from the book, you should take all her classes. She teaches the exact same things in all her classes. You hear the same stories and the tests actually have mostly the same questions. You only need a book the first time you take her. Really nice but rambles on a lot.

At first I thought everyone should take this class, but she is VERY opinionated. I know everything about her children and not much about child psych (unless it's common sense).Tardy @ 5 seconds. This class was a waste of money- learned nothing I didn't already know. Ridicules students, but she grades on a curve :). 5 papers, 4 tests.A lot of work.

I love this teacher. She really cares about her students. If your not ready to do a unit plan and alot work dont take the class, but I've learned alot from her. Her tests are pretty much common sense.

This class was ridiculous. She constantly preached to her students about how wonderful she and her family were, gave false or misguided information on today’s special education system and ridiculed her students for anything and everything. I would never recommend her as a teacher. She needs to retire.
