this class online is bad. She doesn't teach live lessons. She attaches pre-recorded lessons that are muffled, and confusing. we only meet 2x instead of 4 like we r supposed to. she asks if we have questions but gets mad when asked to review the lesson from the videos bc they were unclear but she only wants specific questions from the txtbk

It seems as if she just talks to herself all class. Boring lectures and you can tell she does not like this job lol. Theres a sign in sheet, but she doesnt care about attendance. Quizzes were easy, homework was optional. If you know the material, you literally dont have to do show up except for quiz and exam days.

Dr. Perlstadt knows her stuff but goes too fast on some topics. She does acknowledge that she talks fast so it is best to print out her notes before the week starts. She is a good teacher but she teaches fast and is also bad at technology.

Not very helpful. Went to her office hours for extra help, ended up telling me to just drop the class. If youre grade is any close to a 60 after the first exam, she will encourage you to drop the class. Not very generous with partial credit. If you struggle with math, take a different professor!

Comment:

Dr Marci Perlstadt is a really good and caring professor. The main advantage is that she always explained every homework problem and asked if everybody understands. There was no need to use textbooks because lectures were understandable and effective. I enjoyed working with her and highly recommend to take her as your Math 121 teacher.

Just BEYOND HORRIBLE. Cant teach a class efficiently. Gives and attitude when you are confused. Expects you to come to class like you know every math method that exists. Terrible Grader

Class seemed boring just because it was easy for me. Dr Perlstadt was fine as a professor. She gives you very good notes and goes over them during class. Her quizzes include only things covered in class. I wouldn't mind taking her class again.

Tough teacher. Just throws notes up on a projector, walks through those notes the entire class. Gives a lot of examples but runs through them like she's doing them in her mind, so it is impossible to figure out what she did if you do not understand right off the bat. She goes really fast with her notes. Not really clear when explaining things.

She will mess up in class with problems often. She will not be helpful during office hours. In my entire life she is the worst Math teacher I have ever had and that is saying something because I've had some terrible teachers.

She often gets lost when doing a problem and has to start all over again which makes taking notes very difficult. She tells you there is no textbook required but she does not teach well so I recommend seating everything online or buying the textbook. She is overall the worst teacher I've ever had. Took the class last year and I barely have a D.

She would be late every single class, but if you were late it was unacceptable. She graded tough, but you could persuade her to give you points easily. She knows what shes doing, she just doesn't know how to convey it. Class consisted of her writing on a tablet while muttering words. Best solution, take another prof and get access to her notes.
