BEST...... HISTORY TEACHER...,, EVER!!!! Very old school and will teach you a lot!!! I took three of his classes and his New Mexico history class was the highlight of my time at CNM before transferring to UNM... I took his classes from 8/09-5/10

Definately knew his stuff. I was very happy with the way he ran his classroom but he "left" half way through the year and we were given a replacement professor...too bad. Oh btw, Dr. Cormier was an actor in the T.V. show "Breaking Bad" haha, just a cool little tidbit I thought I'd add in

He is old school. He knows his stuff and is passionate about History and Human rights issues. He knows more than the textbook, loves NM and really dislikes bad manners and lack of respect. Expect to work in his class and the more you contibute to group discussions the better. I worked hard for my B. I took 3 classes with him and enjoyed all.

Lectures are clear and to the point. Comes off rude/mean but is actually a nice guy. Not the most helpful, but is straightforward and gives you every chance to get an A. Tests are a breeze.

Overall, a good teacher, and good story teller, but his quizzes/tests were very hard. Kept up with readings, and took notes on lectures, but getting a B in this class was very hard!

Very tough grader. I felt like I was in grad school. He is a historian and knows his sh*t. alot of material for test Questions. my only B and I was stoked to get that. Hes a gruff tough ol cowboy, I would take him NM history for fun NOT GPA.

His lectures provided useful information but alot of the negative comments made on this site about his teaching style is true. He offers little help when asked and leaves everything up to the student. Doesn't seem to take an interest in you if you're failing and he does seem to favor some students over others.

This instructor is the suckiest one i have ever had! He instructs New Mexico history and says all the words like a white guy. He is very hard to learn from and his teaching styles suck!!!! BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR!!

His class is so boring and hard. He lectures and goes off on other subjects. Can't get thru 5 minutes without him injecting his negative opinion into everything. Acts like everything you do is stupid. Picks on specific students. Favors others. If you don't want to be miserable for 16 weeks, don't take this class!!!!!!

He is really mean. He yells at you if you go to the bathroom, he yells at you if you have to leave early for a doctors appt. He thinks he knows everything and you're privileged to be in his presence. I am a hard working student. I graduated high school with a 4.33 GPA and The highest grade I got on his test was a 92. makes you do stupid group work

I should've paid more attn to the comments, because all the negative comments were 100% correct.He only calls on male students, females are belittled. His study material is irrelevant to the tests, he's non responsive,angry at questions.Your GPA will be affected. he grades so it's impossible to do well. RUN! Maybe IT'S TIME TO RETIRE.

This teacher is a total jerk, he finds pleasure in belittling students, and obviously thinks women know nothing. His class is almost impossible to get a good grade in, unless you want your GPA to drop. AVOID!

As a lover of history I was extremely disappointed in this teacher. He belittled classmates, making participation difficult, he was unforgiving in his classwork, making a decent grade incredibly difficult to come by, and played favorites with some of the prettier girls of our class. The subject matter was interesting, but his teaching was horrible.
