History turned out to be my favorite class and Tate, my favorite Professor at KSU so far. He's smart, witty, and full of interesting stories. Be warned, the tests were all essay (not as bad as it sounds). The text was a collection of speeches and documents which was much more interesting than a traditional text would have been.

This class is worth taking even if it isn't required(which i think it is) I absolutely loved the stories and his way of teaching. You only get 5 grades in the entire class so make them count, overall, pretty easy if you do the work

This class was easy. I hate lectures but he has a good sense of humor and really knows his stuff, it's like taking history with your grandpa. His do****ent tests are a little tricky, but just read and take notes and you'll do fine...don't be late, he gets kind of annoyed, but attendance is not mandatory.

Tate's class are very intresting. However, he doesn't use a text book, and unless you know a lot about Hist, GET A BOOK! His tests were crazy! There were questions on the test that we never went over in class. And I never missed a day. Read everything you can, as well as take notes, and you will do fine. 3 tsts and 4 quizes. I loved his class.

Excellent professor. One of the best that I've had at KSU. Take good notes and you will do well in his class. His stories are very entertaining. There are 3 document tests (that are essay) and a mid-term and final (both are M/C).

Great storyteller and very funny guy. Make sure you come to class because he does not use a book, and don't show up late because he gets pretty irritated. Everything comes from his mind. His exams are very hard, so make sure you study really hard. There are 3 document test which means you read about 10 passages and answer questions about them. When

He is a great teacher, but his tests are very hard. There were some things on his tests that I don't remember going over in class. He doesn't use a book, but I suggest you get one and study it anyways b4 each test. Learned a lot!

Had him for Amer. Hist. WONDERFUL teacher. Amusing and easy to listen to. Tests aren't easy, but they're not impossible. Make sure you read everything he gives you, though, as he does give tests on *just* the reading material as well as tests on his lectures. Highly recommend him.

JB Tate was the best teacher ive had at KSU. Very interesting class. If you go to class, take notes, and study maybe an hour or two before the test, you will do just fine. Great teacher for non Hist Majors.

Did nothing to help the students. No contact infomation, drones on about personal life experience. If there is a better teacher go with them.

Its an easy A as long as you go to class. Thats the most important, unless you are majoring in History.
