He is a great guy, but his slides are a little disorganized and he is not the best at explaining things. However, his exams are extremely similar to the assignment sheets. You get extra credit for going to class. The final is also optional - you can take it if you want to replace a lower test grade.

Jean Pot is the best man. Don't have to study much to get an A. Complete the assignment sheets and old exams and you're good to go :)

JP, also known as Potty, is an inspirational man. He let's all the premeds spread their wings and understands it is MCAT year. This class is a nice break after Orgo&MCB year. Do the assignment sheets; these questions WILL be on the exam, just altered a little bit. Overall, Jean is a great whale loving prof. 10/10 would recommend.

This beautiful whale loving man is literally does not give any. Clicker is participation & boost grade 3%. Idea Labs (wksht) count as another test grade. Exams are chill. Will learn much about whales, sharks, sea life, and if you are lucky even a little physics.

It's really unfortunate that Potvin is considered one of the best physics teachers at SLU. He bases all his physics around bio because he teaches the class that pre-meds take. He's not that great at explaining things, and his lecture slides are pretty disorganized. He also takes forever to grade exams. He gives extra credit for attendance though.

Dr. Potvin is probably the easiest Physics professor at SLU. I would definitely recommend taking his class. Lectures aren't required, but you get EC for going.

Comment:
Extra credit is given in this class, based on your attendance. You can miss four classes every semester and get 4 points of EC, making the cutoff for an A a 91%. Study the assignment sheets, because the exam questions are similar, if not identical, to the problems assigned. Didn't really pay attention in lecture and still did well.

Overall, good professor. Exams can be a little hard but they are a breeze if you understand the assignment sheets he gives every week. He made physics a lot easier than I expected. He doesn't teach physics like other professors and applies a lot of biology since he's a biological physicist.

Probably one of the best physics teachers at SLU. The tests are hard but they are out of the book. There are many tutors that are available to help. He is very funny, going to class is not mandatory though

Love this guy. He's a decent teacher, but can be spazzy and gets off topic easily. Potvin really does want students to do well though, and allows an equation sheet on tests. Since this section was for aviation students, he customized problems to airplanes and such. And he has a great Canadian accent.

Gives quizzes weekly which I always found helpful in keeping up with the material and not too difficult. We were allowed an equation sheet on the test, but the test itself was graded pretty harshly and there is no chance to argue for a couple extra points. Makes the subject interesting and is always willing to help. Take if you enjoy physics.

Gives confusing notes that are all over the place. Tests can be easy if you do the work that he gives you ahead of time. Going to class is not really a must, but can help at times.

he sucks at teaching and is not helpful at all. he takes the longest way possible to do any problems and confuses you more than you were initally. the only good news is that the test problems come directly from the homework. none the less, he sucks, take it at community college over the summer

Test questions right from the HW. Sounds easy right? but he grades retarded. EX: I put an integral without writing the "sum of" first and got 5 points off. Dont bother arguing either. I finished with a B. Probably could have gotten an A if I studied more and make a better cheat sheet.

The tests come from homework, but even if you do the homework correct it doesn't guarantee the tests answer is correct. He in unfair in grading and his lectures are not very clear.
