I read his readings, posted the daily assignments and aced the tests for the class in surplus fashion. Prof Vila even told me I did "graduate-level work" while I was merely an undergrad. None of this stopped him from docking me 10% points over a computer error. I got a B when I earned an A. The guy couldn't care less about his students.

Online course. Lots of reading but if you do the work, and post as required you will do well. Prof is very knowledgeable and an astonishingly good writer. Even though it's not a writing class I learned a lot about making arguments and writing from this man's own writings. He is very responsive to students.

Very nice man. He's very enthusiastic about the material and you can sit and talk with him for hours about it. Its an online course, so you really just need to pace yourself and do the work. If you do the work there is no reason you cant do well. I would definitly take a class with Dr. Vila again.

A very nice man with a heart of gold. Watch out for his syllabi They tend to run for thirty pages. The material is a bit dry but if you listen to him, he can clarify the material for you. Marks easy but be prepare∂ to work hard!

He is a terrible professor. His directions are extremely unclear. He was ALWAYS late for class. He doesn't explain things, and worst of all, he is enormously UNHELPFUL and doesn't care about his students at all. He is the kind of professor that gives this institution a bad name. Please do not take him.

He was okay. I took one of his online courses. He is a very frustrating person to talk to because he does not answer your questions and he does not attend to problem/concerns well. The material was somewhat interesting, but he assigned way too much reading and work!!! It was over kill!

always late. boring lectures about nothing. a lot of readings from the book. tests that have little to do with his lectures. read the book to understand the test questions. take home tests that take forever but are graded easy. one presentation. VERY hard to understand. i was very disappointed. It could have been an interesting class.

This was one of the worst classes I have ever taken at Salisbury. He was late to every class period(at least 20 minutes)and the class consisted of him talking about next to nothing for an hour. Waste of my time which was unfortunate since the topics could have been made VERY interesting.

Knows his linguistics. Whoever thinks he is horrible is an asshat. He is awesome, easy, clear, and gives it his all. He is easy if you study and give the class a chance. Take him cause his tests are light and his grading isn't difficult.

i liked prof vila and I dont like many people. He knows his subject and is passionate about it. If you do the work, you will be fine. I don't understand why people have issues with this class. They are lazy.

Very passionate about the subject he teaches. Extremely helpful, presents material in a way a baby could understand. A real pleasure to be taught by him.

This man is VERY laid back and understanding toward his students. He even took the time to help students new to Online classes to adjust to the settings for a week. He is even fun to talk to in person :)

I took his Language&Culture class and he made a 3 hour class really fun!He makes really goofy jokes and facial expressions,and is just so big and jolly that you cant help but like him.The material gets to wear on you,but I would def. reccomend this class

You DO NOT need the textbooks for his class, just pay attention half the time in class and take notes because that's what the tests are on. He usually has a TON of projects, but he grades very easily so no worries! He's fairly nice too.
