Worst Prof! Tests are hard, he is no help. What he teaches is very different from what he asks on the test. He is useless at explaining. Avoid him! Ruined my GPA!

One of the best professors I've had. If you have any questions he is always willing to answer them. The tests are tough but if you pay attention and study you'll do fine. The homework's are never checked but its helpful if you do them.

Professor Kirby is a sweet and intelligent man however, his abilities to teach math are lax. His voice is low and muffled, making him hard to follow. The review sheets are misleading, since they are usually miles easier than his tests. In addition, your grades are only tests 1, 2, the final, plus attendance. I would not recommend taking this course

Professor Kirby is a sweet man yet it is very unclear what he is saying half of the time. He speaks in a hushed voice so it is difficult to hear him and he does not make his lectures very engaging. Then again, it should be the job of student to stay engaged. Still he allowed me to make up a test, so he is very understanding.

The only professor that teaches MTH4230. He was not helpful at all. When you ask hima question, he is not able to answer. This class would be so much interesting if he knew how to teach. Very hard grader, no curve. 3 midterms, paper and final.

Could not efficiently explain content properly. Expects you to memorize tons of formulas for a test. No grading policy on syllabus . He speaks to himself. He takes 2 minutes just sitting in silence. If I could've changed my professor I would. My suggestion find another professor especially if you taking pre calc. Smh

He doesn't know how to teach. Comes to class unprepared. He cannot explain things and mumbles most of the time. He makes up his own questions and sometimes cannot give explanation to them. 3 tests + Final + paper. Hard grader. Half of the class dropped by the end of 2nd month. Would have been a fun class if he knows how to teach.

Professor Kirby is an extremely nice man but not a good teacher. He is unable to clearly explain most things when asked, and my entire class was frustrated by him. He grades pretty harshly and the tests typically seemed harder than the review sheets. I'm admittedly not a "math person," but having Kirby made learning this material MUCH harder-AVOID!

He is the sweetest old man! However, his tests are alot more difficult than the questions he gives in class. He gives homework everyday, but never checks it although I recommend you still do it because it helps for review. The class is pretty boring and you can hardly hear him because his voice is so quiet. HE GOES AT AN EXTREMELY SLOW PACE!

Teaches very well.Review sheets for his test.Calc is hard because of the departmental final. If you do the webworks,hw, and practice test samples you should do well. Practice, practice, practice! Its the only way to conquer the final!

Very nice and understanding professor. His tests weren't hard. They were pretty much like his reviews. However, he didin't prepare students for the final, well. His tests were much easier than the final was. I would not recommend him if you want to pass the final.

great professor, very clear and is organized.. will answer any questions you have... review sheets before every test are almost exactly like actual tests.. however, the tests should be harder to prepare for the final..

overall, he is a good prof. experienced in teaching Mth, gave the reasonable curve if whole class made the low average, but you need to do homework to practice.

This subject is kind of hard to begin with especially if you're not to good with math. He is better than a lot of the other math professors at baruch. he gives a review sheet b4 the tests and that helps cuz the questions are very similar.. just a little harder on the test. I'm not doing the greatest in the class but I'm bad at math. He's okay.

Do not take his class. He doesnt know how to explain very well, and when he tries to explain it is as if he just started teaching (not like someone who would be an experienced teacher). O, and I dont know about the 2000 level class, but my subject's formulas, he wasnt able to explain any.
