She treats her intro classes like upper levels. She expects you to know all of these complex anthropological concepts as soon as class starts even if you haven't had prior anthropology classes. She grades heavily on participation. Her quizzes are so difficult that even if you do the reading assignments you still may not pass.

The class is an intro class but it is more difficult than my upper level classes and I am a senior. You can do the reading and study and still get a bad grade. Trying to talk to her was not much help either.

She is the type of teacher that would smile in your face, but yet you are failing her class. She failed me, but made it seem as if I were passing with a high C in her class. All I needed was 3 points for a C and she just didn't care. I even went to her after class study sessions to show her I care about my grade, because I just didn't get it.

You do have to act like an adult in this class, meaning don't be rude and text/talk/play games on your computer the whole time. Attendance is mandatory, but that's because her tests/quizzes are hard. You need to go to class to be able to pass. Doing the readings are not enough. She LOVES examples - always include many in your work.

Her class is SUPER strict! She doesn't teach this course like an INTRO course at all. Only way I think people will like this class is if they are Anthro majors, other than that drop it and get a new professor. Her attendance policy is Ridiculous!you can only get ONE free absence then she takes off your grade. smh.

She is very strict. Don't text or anything you shouldn't do on your computer because she will call you out. Attendance is VERY strict, one free and after that they count off your grade. She IS very smart and respect her student's opinions. I would NOT recomend her for NON anthro majors!

Dr. Gezon was very strict, very fair. She's very respectful of her students' viewpoints, is very encouraging of the open exchange of ideas and likes to challenge students to answer tough questions for ourselves. Nothing is paint-by-numbers. Everything is open to analysis. (Be sure to read the text! Her tests aren't easy but are straightforward.)

She teaches a one-sided course. She is dangerously liberal. She is teaching and incorporating marxist philosophy to the students. Research "Cultural Marxisim" and you will understand what I mean. I dare any of you to ask her "What is 'Cultural marxisim?'" She will NOT answer you.

Gezon cares for her students. She is willing to help, always avail and inviting for office or after class help. Attendance is key, lose final grade points after 1 absence, but as long as u attend class and listen you should be fine on the tests. Only grades are 3 tests and a paper. Also opportunity for extra credit that can bump final grade 3 pts.

HER CLASS WAS VERY BORING!!! SOME OF THE LECTURES WERE INTERESTING BUT THAT WAS RARE! WHEN IT CAME TO HER TESTS SHE GAVE 4 PAGE STUDY GUIDES WITH ONLY 2 PAGES OF INFORMATION THAT IS ACTUALLY ON THE EXAM! YOU HAVE TO DO CLICKER QUIZES AND YOU'RE REQUIRED TO COME TO CLASS! I didn't think she was easy at all.Actually,I may not get to keep HOPE because of this class.I love her stories but her lectures are very boring, scattered,& i couldnt keep up.She posts powerpoints online but doesn't follow them. You have to write a 3pg paper but it's kinda interesting. You only get 4 grades, that may be why it's hard to pass.

You have a quiz every week on WebCT after reading a seven page chapter in the book. this class totally sucked and it was a waste of time for me. She tries to do to much at one time and confuse everyone in the class. She packs everythin in a 50 min class and it never works out. She shows videos and gave a book report over a boring book. Definitely liked this class. It is a lot of work for just a 2 hour class, but its not hard. MUST READ TUTORIALS!! She is extremely helpful and very very passionate about the subject. She was the one who got me interested in Anthropology and because of her, I'm going to major in it! Definitely recommend : )
