Dr. Jones is a terrible human being. Hes literally the worst professor I have ever had. I have learned absolutely nothing from him. The fact that he inherited the job from his dad is an example of nepotism at its finest. Would not recommend taking band at UNA.

Dr. Jones is the reason the UNA Band Program is so strong. He took the excellence from previous band directors and ran with it. He makes you work hard and expects you to always do your best, but that is what band is about. Joining the UNA Band Program is the best choice I have ever made in my life.

I was terrified of Dr. Jones at first, but he gets better as you get to know him. Great band director. He's not afraid to call anyone out though(not for the big-headed). I thought about quitting the first day of band camp, but I'm glad I didn't. You have to put in a lot of work, but you get to be very proud of the outcome. Wish we had more shows.

Dr.Jones is an amazing band director, he truly cares about all of his students and wants us to look our best. Most people who don't like him just don't want to put in the work that this band requires. Yes, it's a lot of work, but it's worth it and that's why we are known all over.

Great director! I don't understand why people on here says he doesn't practice with a met because 8/10 times I hear that thing loud and clear. If you think this program sucks then it is because your mentality is still immature and you cannot take constructive criticism right. Such a great program that teaches discipline if you're willing to learn.

Never rehearses with a metronome but expects a perfect show, once the show is learned he doesn't try to perfect anything, he just runs sections and calls it a day. The idea of having lionettes and majorettes is outdated and if you want to do colorguard in drum corps this isn't a good place to learn so someone could get better so they could march.

He doesn't "teach" anything. I've never learned anything from Lloyd Jones or from being in this band program. This band doesn't rehearse with a met, he straight rips off arrangements from The Cadets and The Blue Devils, and he has the same show every year, recycles the same stuff...He's the reason we're good, but also the reason we're not great.

Mr.Jones is Amazing!!! He is one of the best Band Directors that I have ever had. He makes you work hard, but it is Totally worth it. I couldn't ask for anybody better. He cares about his students and is willing to protect and help them anytime. I want to be like that when I get older.
