Comment:

One of the best in the department. She is funny, understanding and positive. Clearly passionate about mathematics and math education. She emphasizes the process and the concepts rather than the end solution (which she also cares about) which I really respect. Great for people that don't see themselves as "math people" (yet).

She's clearly passionate about math modeling and encourages all projects in the field. Just wants to foster her students' interests. Nice woman. She doesn't lecture so sometimes ideas can be left unclarified.

I think Meredith genuinely cares about her students and tries to do her best to help us, but the class format often leaves me very frustrated. She tries not to lecture and as a result, you leave class with little notes, then she gives HW on many things that you haven't learned yet, and then you get quizzed on this material the next class.

She is a very nice person, not the best teacher. She relies heavily on powerpoints and clicker questions. The homeworks are really easy and not a bother at all. We have 3 exams plus a final which is perfect. The Bring it In's are annoying, and the Outside Events are okay. She is good at explaining certain things.

I had her for FYS. She is the worst adviser ever. She is nice but isn't very helpful. If you ask her for advise, her respond is always do what you wanna do attitude. Nice but not helpful.

GO TO CLASS!!! roll call everyday!! Not the best teacher..awkward...loves math a little too much!! Tests are easy if you understand the material..no surprises on exams!! She let students get to her a little to much, which in turn affected her teaching and the way students interacted with her!

A nice person, whose exams and quizzes tend be be relatively easy and straightforward. Her teaching though, is not the greatest and is at most times incomprehensible. I would not advise you to take her class for higher level math courses.

For someone who is not a "math person," Meredith to be the best math teacher in the world as far as I'm concerned. Not your standard boring science/math personality - incredibly upbeat and into what she's doing. Make sure you get her.
