Worst prof ever. It was a writing comp. class, yet we wrote two papers the whole semester. He teaches the class as if it's a philosophy class. He spent one class talking about the process of writing, and assumed we knew everything that he was lecturing about already and that it was just a review. Learned nothing about writing.

Comment:

He is a great teacher! Yes, the course is challenging, but very interesting. Prof. Koontz is on a personal level with his students and gives them respect. Just read the assignments and put effort into your paper and you will do fine. There are far more challenging things in life than this class!

Hard to follow and not fun. He himself is nice I guess but not very good teacher. I mistakenly received IP and was told that I had to take Eng 510. (which I checked with him over and over)I had to take Eng 510, but It turned out that I passed the class(after the refund dead line)It really sucked.

This instructor likes himself too much and likes to hear himself talk MORE. Too hard to follow - I think sometimes he forgets that he is teaching at a JC level - NOT GRAD. Too hard to follow.

Comment:

Mr Koontz has a large vocab, making him hard to follow sometimes. He's pretty strict, and is willing to help somewhat. The writing is very very difficult; when you write an essay for this class your brain feels like it's giving birth.
