Comment:
I learned absolutely nothing in this class. Mike is extremely pompous and quite honestly one of the most annoying human beings out there. His class isn't that hard but it is extremely boring and a huge waste of your time.

He was great! Best online class I've ever taken. He's very clear about what he requires from you for the class, gives a lot of extra credit, and is really helpful if you need anything. Most assignments you get full credit just for doing them. He is also very understanding about deadlines, given the online situation. I would definitely recommend him

I still haven't figured out Professor Petri. He is either a genius or a fraud. He teaches is a very unconventional manner and claims everyone gets great grades from it because it teaches them the material so much better. Honestly I think he just might be an easy grader. Show up every class , do the work, you will leave with an A.

Took over summer. His tests are literally impossible, no matter how much you read. HW is not bad, but there is a lot of reading. The HW and extra credit, as well as the final project, really buffer your grade. I failed all my tests but got Cs on the midterm and final, but still got an A. He is really helpful and friendly though if you need any help

The class actually isn't all that bad. There is A LOT of work to be done (readings, quizzes, essays), but it's really not that hard to keep up with. He offers a lot of extra credit, which boosted my grade an entire letter. I failed all quizzes & midterm and had a D but with the discussion board questions, my grade bumped to a B!

Not clear on instructions. takes his job way too seriously. quiz questions are so far out of left field, you'd have to re-read the 600 page book over and over if you wanted a good grade. if Petri is the only professor available, wait a semester for someone else.

Horrible professor. Does not provide students with materials aside from a poorly written textbook. All test questions are completely inaccurate and biased - tried arguing a question and he cannot understand any other point of view except his own. Stay away from this professor!!

Petri is definitely not clear about his instructions on anything. He grades based on opinion, and will not justify the grade you get. he thinks group projects work in online courses when they relly dont. I would avoid.

DO NOT TAKE! Hardtests are theory NOT the book. You can outline for hours, but it doesn't help! Trick questions,DO DISCUSSION BOARDS!Extra Credit-Hardest class ever-Take Hist22 better!Constitution was easy, but the rest of the class SUCKED. He emails when he "feels" like it, can take up to a week on replying. I would advise DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS!

This instructor was awful and might as well been absent. Did not promote discussion or interaction among students and himself. That is the only way an online course can been any good. If you write on subjects that disagrees with is ideology, you will receive a poor grade. There is no feedback with his grading. He does not justify the grade. Avoid!!

My dad, a poli sci undergrad major, law school grad, and government lawyer, looked over the exams & quizzes I took in this class. So much of it was flat out wrong, or best case scenario based on opinion. Avoid Petri if you actually have an interest in the subject or if you want an A without catering to the professors pathetic need to be right.

Absolutely the worst. Doesn't spend any time in class actually teaching, he only spends class time talking about his life. Tests are online and the easiest way to do good is to get the PDF of the book and use that and google to take the tests effectively. Any learning from this class will come from the book. Answers emails a week late.

Took the 8 week online course. Moves fast. Quizzes every few weeks that are challenging. Questions come from the book though so don't lag on the reading. Must rewrite constitution but grades easy. The quizzes and midterms will get you if you don't study. Keep up on the discussions for extra cred and participation! I got a B.

From beginning to end: Have to purchase HIS book, that is horribly written, and supposedly had an editor (which I'm guessing is his alter ego). Book is essentially his opinion about things, and they are not even clear when it comes quiz/test time. Many students email him because instructions are not clear. Non responsive. Take a different class.

I thought this class was great. You are not required to participate in weekly discussion boards, but if you did you received extra credit. I did have to read the WHOLE book to make sure I got decent grades on the quizzes. True & False questions are tricky. You are required to re-write the Constitution, be ready. Overall I'm glad I took this class

Took online over summer. Put minimal effort and got a B. Midterm, several quizzes, and a final. 3 projects/papers-must write a new constitution. Arrogant, thinks he is right about everything. Barely read the chapters and still did ok. Do the discussion boards!

I don't know what everyone is crying about on here. I signed up for the online class then read the awful reviews, which scared me. I did the work he asked and took the test (some of them I bombed and other I did amazingly). I ended up getting a B. If you are good with directions then I suggest this class

Probably the worst teacher i have had at Saddleback. His book is based on opinions, and the facts he does state are often wrong. He only has one assignment that is worth any points, but the directions are rather unclear. Try to avoind taking this class.

His Online class is the absolute biggest waste of time. His quiz questions are opinions, not facts. My dad is a History teacher and found much of his information to be flat out wrong. Makes you buy his own stupid book that is written very poorly. Try to avoid this class at all costs.
