Her accent is heavy and her grammar is bad. Worst of all is the fact that she rushes during lectures and the supplemental material on the R drive is written the way she speaks. Most of that material doesn't even show up in the quizzes and tests.

Comment:

Mrs. Baten is a great teacher and knows Economics very well. However, she has a very heavy Indian accent which could prevent some students from understanding very well. You'll adapt though. She will give a quiz after every two sections and test after a chapter. Her test will consist of all the quiz questions word for word. Good luck.

Definitely not my favorite teacher of all time. She is not very clear when it comes to basically anything. Her assignments are not straight forward and she gives quizzes immediately after finishing a lesson on that topic. The only good thing is that all of her quiz questions are repeated in her tests, so you can at least get those right

Treats every student differently when it comes to handing in late work. Does not use plato, have to go to her office hours to find out how you are doing in the class. Puts notes on R-Drive but are long & barley any of the major concepts show up on tests or quizzes. Will call out students in front of class about doing poorly. super unprofessional!

She has a thick, Indian accent, but is still fairly easy to understand. If anything, her grammar is completely there, yet. She is very repetitive. Also, pauses often during her lectures. She DOES make the class relatable, and understandable. Stay on top of assignments, she doesn't remind often. Only write bolded text in power points.

Hard to understand thick accent. PowerPoints are up to 10 years old, which is poor for economics. Will often avoid questions asked by going on tangents about nothing pertinent. Do not take her class once a week, it will drain your soul

Horrible class. You can't understand her and she doesn't understand proper grammar. Don't buy the textbook or study guide. She teaches off power points every single class and thats what her test are based on. I got a B in the class and never studied and got like 65s on my exams. You just need to act like you care.Do good on homework/journals!!

Not a good experience. Got put into her class last minute and it was a mistake. Its not thats shes a bad teacher but you cant understand her. Didnt pay attention much but passed with a 65!

She can't do math at all. She draws mathematically impossible graphs. Then tells us things that are not mathematically true. She can't use Microsoft Word, she can barely use Power Point at best.

Worst teacher ever. You can't understand her, she goes too fast. This was my worst grade in a class. DO NOT TAKE HER,TAKE IT AT HOME!!!! NEVER TAKE A 3 HOUR BLOCK CLASS! It was my worst experience here. If you have to take it do not do it here, her husband is almost as bad.

If you get the supplemental workbook and study the multiple choice answers and the vocabulary in the text you can teach yourself the class. It is death by powerpoint and the slides are not in proper English. It is better to copy them down the way they're written and the way she says things b/c that's the way it's worded on the tests.

AHHH!! can't understand her at all! can't write very well either. only way i can stay awake during the class is by filling my notebook with translations of stuff she says. speaks in a monotone and flips out when nobody realizes she asked a question and not a statement. oh and by the way "cushion" means "question" x_x

A little hard to understand at times but she is to the point. Just show up to class do the journals/HW and study a little for the tests and you cant go wrong. She puts all notes on her R drive. Would not recommend taking her for the 3hr night class, extremely boring lectures.

She is a horrible teacher, she'll spend twnety minutes talking about someting everybody already understands, then fly through everything else leaving you completely lost. She can't speak proper english. and accordingto her, "B" is a number. she's just retarded. Do not take her at all costs!!!
