I came back to the orchestra after two years. It is like a different group. The level is very high and Marinescu is creating a musical vibe and inspiration. But you must know how to play your instrument and he has midterms.

Quite possibly my best prof this semester. I'm a flute major and he let me play violin in orch. And he really is quite amusing esp when he tries to speak ghetto with that Romanian accent. Plus the orch owns Villella and the marching band by a lot.

Didn't learn a thing in this class. He's very vague in his explanations and grading. He told our class he didn't know what he was doing teaching conducting. At least I know I'll learn something with DeVenney. Unfortunately you can't avoid this class with him.

Such an awful class. The man shows up late constantly and is not prepared to teach it. He plays favorites especially when grading. If you're not a pretty female then don't expect an A. You won't learn anything in this class besides how to conduct to recordings.

Instrumental II is a joke for those who have had Choral II already. I do not feel like I learned much in this course that I did not learn through Choral II. Marinescu is a very nice guy, but the course was VERY boring and we accomplished little.

First off, he's a great cellist. Second, he's so passionate about music. He's very helpful and is a real people person. Very tedious rehearsals though. Spends a lot of time working on sections of the orchestra which wastes a lot of time for the others.
